Job summary

Sonic Healthcare Australia Radiology NSW/ACT is seeking an experienced Radiology Services Manager to lead regional reporting operations across NSW and ACT. The role collaborates with radiologists, operational leaders and technology teams to drive efficiency, capacity and innovative service delivery.

You will oversee workflows, rostering, performance metrics and the adoption of AI-enabled solutions, ensuring high-quality patient care while supporting sustainable growth across multiple radiology

Lead the future of radiology reporting and innovation across New South Wales and the ACT.

Sonic Healthcare Australia Radiology is seeking an experienced and innovative healthcare leader to join our NSW/ACT leadership team as Radiology Services Manager.

Reporting directly to the Chief Operating Officer NSW/ACT, this newly created role will provide strategic leadership and oversight of reporting operations across the region. Working across multiple radiology businesses, you will drive operational excellence, technology adoption, AI-enabled workflow improvements, and service innovation to support exceptional patient care and sustainable growth.

This is a unique opportunity to influence the future of diagnostic imaging services within one of Australia's leading healthcare organisations.

This position may be based in Newcastle, Sydney or Canberra, with regular collaboration across our NSW and ACT operations.

About the Role

As Radiology Services Manager, you will provide leadership and oversight of regional reporting operations, ensuring reporting workflows are efficient, scalable and aligned with organisational objectives.

Working closely with radiologists, operational leaders, technology teams and business stakeholders, you will identify opportunities to improve reporting capacity, service delivery and diagnostic outcomes through the effective use of systems, data and emerging technologies.

Key responsibilities include:

• Leading strategic projects and operational workstreams from concept through to implementation and benefits realisation.
• Overseeing regional reporting workflows, worklists and rostering operations.
• Optimising reporting capacity, resource utilisation and turnaround times.

Coordinating internal and external reporting resources to ensure service delivery, capacity and reporting performance targets are achieved.

• Supporting the adoption of AI and technology solutions that improve clinical and operational outcomes.
• Collaborating with radiologists and operational leaders to enhance reporting services.
• Establishing and monitoring performance indicators, service metrics and improvement outcomes to support data-driven decision making.
• Managing stakeholder relationships across multiple business units.
• Supporting stakeholder engagement, training and change management activities associated with technology and service improvement initiatives.
• Supporting workforce capability, training and readiness initiatives to enable successful service and technology transformation.
• Providing leadership, coaching and operational oversight of the Report Delivery Team and associated reporting functions.
• Representing NSW/ACT interests within Sonic Radiology national initiatives and working groups.

Desirable Criteria

• Experience managing radiology reporting operations or report delivery functions.
• Knowledge of radiology information systems, workflow management platforms and reporting technologies.
• Experience implementing digital health, automation or artificial intelligence solutions.
• Experience working across multiple healthcare sites or business units.
• Formal qualifications in healthcare management, project management, business improvement or a related discipline.
• Experience working within large healthcare organisations or complex service environments.
