Job summary

Global Medical Solutions – Keilor Park VIC is seeking a full-time Radiochemist to join the production team. The role requires rotating shifts including 02:00am starts, with responsibilities in compounding radiopharmaceuticals, order processing, QA testing and GMP-compliant handling of radioactive materials.

Ideal candidates communicate effectively, have strong attention to detail, and hold a science degree.

Qualifications

• Tertiary science qualification in chemistry, microbiology or biochemistry.
• No prior radiopharmacy experience required; on‑the‑job training provided.

Responsibilities

• Compounding radioactive substances and reagents to prepare radiopharmaceuticals.
• Managing daily Radiopharmacy activities: customer orders, material ordering, pharmacy operations.
• Performing quality control testing on products.
• Maintaining records for receipt, storage, preparation and disposal of radioactive isotopes.
• Ensuring accurate labelling and packing of radiopharmaceuticals.
• Preparing shipping documents, placards, dangerous goods declarations and delivery bags.
• Cleaning and sanitising items for next production cycle.
• Co-ordinating disposal of materials following waste management procedures, including radiation disposal.
• Cleaning and daily housekeeping in line with GMP standards.
• Inventory control.
• Answering customer enquiries and confirming scripts.

The Radiopharmaceuticals we create every day in our laboratories are delivered in the same day and injected into patients requiring diagnoses or treatment of different types of diseases, in this role you will have a direct impact on the Nuclear Medicine industry and their patients.

We are seeking a full time Radiochemist to join the production team. The successful candidate must be available for a rotating roster between night, early morning and day shifts.

What does the job look like?

• Undertaking the compounding of radioactive substances and reagents to prepare radiopharmaceuticals following laboratory procedures
• Performing daily activities of Radiopharmacy i.e. customer order receipt, raw material ordering, pharmacy operations
• Completing of Quality control testing on products
• Maintaining control records for receipt, storage, preparation and disposal of radioactive isotopes
• Ensuring the accurate labelling, packing of radiopharmaceuticals
• Preparing required shipping documents, placards, dangerous goods declarations, customer labels and delivery bags
• Cleaning and sanitising items for next production cycle.
• Co-ordinating the disposal of returned materials following waste management procedures, including safe radiation disposal
• Cleaning and daily housekeeping practices in line with GMP standards
• Managing inventory control
• Answering customer enquiries and confirming of scripts
