Job summary

ZEISS in Tonsley, Adelaide, seeks a trade-qualified Fitter & Turner or Maintenance Fitter to support R&D equipment and prototype development. You will fabricate, assemble and improve mechanical systems for ophthalmic lens production, reading drawings and applying your hands-on skills.

The role involves troubleshooting, working with CNC, 3D printing and CAD tools, and collaborating with global teams to deliver reliable workshop solutions.

Qualifications

• Trade qualification as a Fitter & Turner or Maintenance Fitter.
• Experience operating and maintaining mechanical workshop and production equipment.
• Ability to read engineering drawings.
• Experience with CNC, 3D printing and 3D CAD modelling.

Responsibilities

• Support spectacle lens production development and process improvements.
• Operate and troubleshoot surfacing, CEF, and related equipment.
• Prototype and modify equipment and test fixtures.
• Assist qualification activities for new machines and processes.
• Maintain the R&D workshop and tools.
• Provide practical technical support for equipment issues.
• Collaborate with global teams on projects.
