Job summary

Boral is seeking a Quarry Supervisor to oversee daily Petrie quarry operations, reporting to the Quarry Manager. The role covers maintenance, plant performance, safety, environment and quality control, with accountability for site activity coordination and LEAN implementation.

The successful candidate will demonstrate leadership, strong communication, and the ability to drive safety culture while delivering customer-focused outcomes. Permanent role with development opportunities.

Qualifications

• 5 years experience in mining and quarrying.
• Strong knowledge of hard rock quarrying and crushing processes.
• Strong leadership attributes including initiative to identify, manage, and solve issues as they arise.
• Experience in LEAN Manufacturing will be highly regarded.

Responsibilities

• Oversee day-to-day operations of Petrie quarry and lead safety and environmental compliance.
• Supervise and coordinate all daily site activities and LEAN initiatives.

Reporting into the Quarry Manager, this dynamic and diverse role will support across various key functionalities of the Quarry, including maintenance, plant performance, safety, environment, and quality control.

Unique opportunity for a driven Quarry Supervisor to join our team on a permanent basis, overseeing the day-to-day operations of our Petrie (30kms north of Brisbane) quarry. Reporting into the Quarry Manager, this dynamic and diverse role will support across various key functionalities of the Quarry, including maintenance, plant performance, safety, environment, and quality control. This position will fulfil the successful candidate’s desire for responsibility and accountability in the delivery of key duties, including supervision and coordination of all daily site activities, leading safety and environmental legislation compliance and implementation of business HSE policies and procedures, promoting, facilitating and initiating LEAN activities, as well as driving customer focused product and service outcomes.

Your day will involve:

• Demonstrated experience in hard rock quarry operations and/or fixed and mobile plant operations; this opportunity would suit a Quarry Supervisor, Production Supervisor, Maintenance Superintendent, Mining Operator or similar, stepping into the role.
• Demonstrated leadership, people management, and/or mentoring skills, particularly when supporting driving compliance and a culture of HSE & Quality
• Exceptional communication, interpersonal and influencing skills, all key when liaising with a number of internal and external stakeholders at all levels
• Strong organisation skills, with the ability to drive results whilst prioritising various competing deadlines

What are we looking for?
