Job summary

Regional Group Australia (RGA) is seeking an experienced Quarry Operator for Yarra Valley, VIC. The role covers mobile plant operation and daily quarry tasks at Yarra Valley Quarries, supporting local road works and concrete plants.

You will perform pre-start checks, participate in toolbox talks, and adhere to WHS policies while following Quarry Supervisor directions. A valid license and White Card are required, with quarry experience preferred.

Qualifications

• Experience operating mobile plant including loaders, dump trucks, excavators and crushing equipment.
• Must hold a valid driver’s license and White Card.
• Experience working in a quarry environment desirable; RII tickets are preferred but not essential.

Responsibilities

• Operate mobile plant including Front End Loader, Dump Truck, Excavator and Crushing.
• Carry out daily quarry operations and routine maintenance on vehicles and equipment.
• Complete daily pre-start checks on plant and participate in toolbox talks.
• Develop familiarity with RGA WHS policies and procedures and follow supervisor instructions.

Job description

Regional Group Australia (RGA) is seeking an experienced and reliable Quarry Operator to join their team at Yarra Valley, VIC.

Located at the base of Mt Toolebewong, Yarra Valley Quarries (YVQ) is a long-established hard rock (Hornfels) quarry producing concrete aggregates to the RGA concrete plants, as well as a range of VicRoads approved crushed rock products supplied to the Yarra Ranges Shire Council for local road works.

Duties include, but not limited to:

• Mobile plant operation including Front End Loader, Dump Truck, Excavator and Crushing.
• Carry out daily quarry operations and regular maintenance of various vehicles, plant and equipment.
• Complete daily pre-start checks on plant
• Participate in daily toolbox talks
• Develop a thorough understanding of RGA WHS policies and procedures
• Follow all instructions from Quarry Supervisor.

Required skills and experience:

• Various plant experience includingFront End Loader, Dump Truck, Excavator and Crushing Plant
• Driver's license and White Card
• Experience working in a quarry environment
• Relevant RII tickets (not essential)
• Use of initiative, proactive and organised approached to work
• Ability to pass a pre-employment medical assessment (including Drug and Alcohol Testing)
