Job summary

Altona North Landfill Pty Ltd in Plumpton, VIC is seeking an experienced Quarry Maintenance / Fabricator / Welder to service fixed and mobile plant across Plumpton/Rockbank Quarry and Altona operations. The role combines planned maintenance, breakdown repairs, and occasional machinery operation.

You will perform routine servicing, diagnostics, and spares management, with good welding/troubleshooting skills and readiness to work outdoors in varied weather, up to 5.5 days per week.

Altona North Landfill Pty Ltd – Plumpton VIC

We’re offering an excellent opportunity for an experienced Maintenance All-Rounder to join our team. You’ll play a key role in maintaining and servicing a wide range of fixed and mobile plant and equipment across our Plumpton/Rockbank Quarry and Altona operations.

The role involves a combination of planned & preventative breakdown maintenance work together with some occasional machinery operation as required. Scheduled servicing of machines and record keeping support is also an important part of the role. We have over 40 different machines on site (screens, crushers, excavators, loaders, trucks, etc).

Working closely with Management & Operators, we are looking to continually improve all aspects of the site Maintenance processes including routine preventative shut downs, servicing and spares management in order to support current productivity targets. This involves work in the field and also workshop.

Importantly, experience with oxy-cutting & welding (MIG/TIG) along with trouble shooting is essential, and you must be willing to work in various weather conditions and be flexible to work up to 5.5 days a week as required.

HOURS: MON-FRI: 7AM to 4pm, SAT (O/T): 7AM - 1PM (plus any extra O/T).

The role also involves some general site housekeeping tasks, machinery maintenance planning. Other typical tasks would include belt repairs, bearing changeovers, vee-belt replacement, hydraulic system checks, screen repairs, etc. This role is often the first point of call for any machine issues or breakdowns so good diagnostic skills and being able to handle multiple tasks is important.
