Job summary

Silicon Quantum Computing Pty Ltd (SQC) is hiring a Platform Engineer for its Engineering Infrastructure team. The role focuses on HPC compute clusters, GitHub Enterprise CI/CD pipelines, and Kubernetes-based dev tooling across multiple products and research teams.

You'll work hands-on across on-prem and cloud environments, shaping the platform's direction as the company scales toward fault-tolerant quantum computing. A strong DevOps mindset and collaboration with researchers are essential.

Qualifications

• 3+ years in platform, DevOps, or infrastructure engineering.
• Strong Docker and Kubernetes expertise.
• Proficient Linux administration and scripting (Bash, Python).
• Experience with IaC (Terraform/Ansible) and CI/CD tooling.
• Hands-on with HPC or compute cluster environments.
• Strong troubleshooting and cross-team communication.

Responsibilities

• Own and operate HPC compute clusters (on-prem and cloud) for simulation and quantum workloads.
• Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines across products and toolchains (GitHub Enterprise, automated testing, deployment).
• Manage internal application platforms and dev tooling on Kubernetes (Ansys, Sonnet, and our compute platform).
• Support physics and research teams in accessing and getting the most from compute resources.
• Monitor platform health, respond to incidents, and drive reliability improvements.
• Develop infrastructure-as-code practices that improve consistency and speed up onboarding.
