Job summary

Modos Group is seeking an experienced Quantity Surveyor to join our expanding team. Based in Melbourne (or Brisbane/Sydney nearby), you will own a diverse portfolio, conduct site inspections, assess building costs and deliver cost reports across insurance projects.

You will work with our Principal QS and experienced colleagues, enjoying autonomy and support to grow within a growing consultancy. Travel to site and client meetings will be involved.

Qualifications

• Qualifications in Quantity Surveying (mandatory).
• Previous experience as a Quantity Surveyor.
• Experience within insurance claims.
• Strong construction knowledge and understanding of building costs.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Confidence dealing directly with clients and stakeholders.
• Ability to manage own workload and portfolio.
• Practical, analytical problem-solving approach.
• Willingness to undertake site inspections and travel.

Quantity Surveyor | Insurance & Construction Consultancy

Modos is looking for an experienced Quantity Surveyor to join our expanding team. Based in Brisbane, Sydney, Melbourne or their surrounding areas, you'll take ownership of your portfolio and work on a diverse range of projects predominantly within the insurance industry. You'll work directly with clients, undertake site inspections, investigate and assess building costs, solve problems and manage your own portfolio of matters from start to finish. Working closely with our Principal Quantity Surveyor, you'll have the support of an experienced team while being trusted with real responsibility and autonomy.

Key responsibilities

• Managing your own portfolio of Quantity Surveying matters
• Undertaking site inspections and assessments
• Preparing detailed scopes, cost estimates and quantity surveying reports
• Reviewing building costs, quotations and supporting documentation
• Working across insurance claims involving a variety of property types and circumstances
• Liaising directly with insurers, loss adjusters, builders, consultants, property owners and other stakeholders
• Providing clear, pragmatic and commercially focused advice to clients
• Working closely with our Principal Quantity Surveyor and wider building consulting and engineering teams
• Managing competing priorities and progressing matters efficiently
• Building strong, long-term relationships with clients

About you

• Qualifications in Quantity Surveying (mandatory)
• Previous experience working as a Quantity Surveyor
