Job summary

AirSwift is seeking an experienced Quantity Surveyor for a Brisbane-based role with FIFO/BIBO to Surat Basin. The 12-month casual contract features a 19 days on, 9 days off roster, supporting field-based operations on a major oil and gas project.

The role involves verification of quantities, progress, and commercial performance, with collaboration across construction, project controls, contract management, and contractor teams to ensure delivery outcomes.

Qualifications

• 5–10 years' experience in Quantity Surveying, Cost Control, Commercial, or Project Controls in Oil & Gas, Mining, Energy, Infrastructure, or Construction environments.
• Strong understanding of contract administration and commercial management principles.
• Experience with unit rate, lump sum, and reimbursable contracts.

Responsibilities

• Verify contractor progress, quantities, timesheets, and construction reports against site activity.
• Conduct field quantity measurements and progress validation across construction works.
• Assess contractor productivity, identifying trends, inefficiencies, and improvement opportunities.
• Review schedules and progress performance, highlighting risks, delays, and critical path impacts.
• Support commercial assurance activities, including claim validation, variations, and contract compliance.
• Prepare weekly and monthly reporting for project leadership teams.
• Benchmark productivity against industry standards and historical data.
• Participate in site walks, progress reviews, and construction meetings.
• Build strong relationships with project stakeholders, field teams and contractors to drive project outcomes.

About You

• Experience working with unit rate, lump sum, and reimbursable contracts.

• Exposure to pipeline, gathering network, or linear infrastructure projects highly regarded.

• Advanced Microsoft Excel and cost tracking skills.

• Strong analytical, stakeholder management, and communication abilities.

• Proven ability to work effectively within multidisciplinary site-based teams.
