Job summary

Skilled Jobs Australia is seeking a professional Quantity Surveyor / Tendering Engineer for our Building and Construction team based at Dry Creek, SA. Reporting to the Estimating Manager, you will prepare first principle estimates, complex price build ups, construction programs, methodologies and lead bids for diverse projects.

Key responsibilities include reviewing tender documents, pricing components, take-offs, cost estimating with Cost X, and developing tender programs.

Qualifications

• 3+ years' experience
• Experience in elemental estimates for Building and Construction
• QS degree or equivalent
• Proficient in MS Word, advanced Excel, PowerPoint; Cost X preferred
• Strong interpersonal and networking with SA suppliers/subcontractors
• Excellent communication and negotiation skills

Responsibilities

• Review RFT, RFP and RFQ documentation to determine requirements in the planning of tenders.
• Develop lists of required pricing components and identify associated subcontractors and suppliers.
• Preparation of project take-offs
• Cost estimating (using Cost X) and preparation of tender schedules
• Development of tender programs
• Develop construction methodologies
• Submission of detailed bids
• Liaising with clients, suppliers and other key stakeholders
• Provide detailed handovers to the delivery project teams

Our Client is one of Australasia's largest privately-owned construction, industrial and environmental services organisations.

About the role -
We are currently seeking a professional and experienced Quantity Surveyor / Tendering
Engineer to join their Building and Construction team, based at our offices in Dry Creek. Reporting to the Estimating Manager, the successful candidate will be responsible for preparing first principle estimates, complex price build ups, construction programs,
methodologies and leading bids for challenging and diverse Building and Construction
projects

Key Responsibilities

• Review RFT, RFP and RFQ documentation to determine requirements in the planning of tenders.
• Develop lists of required pricing components and identify associated subcontractors and suppliers.
• Preparation of project take-offs
• Cost estimating (using Cost X) and preparation of all relating tender schedules
• Development of tender programs
• Develop construction methodologies
• Submission of detailed bids
• Liaising with clients, suppliers and other key stakeholders
• Provide detailed handovers to the delivery project teams

Skills and Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years' experience
• Experience in Building and Construction elemental estimates
• Degree qualifications in Quantity Surveying or similar
• Proficient computing skills including MS Word, advanced Excel, PowerPoint and Cost X (preferred)
• High level of interpersonal skills including a good phone manner and positive relationships with a network of South Australian Suppliers and Subcontractors.
• Excellent communication and negotiation skills

Salary range offered based upon experience between $75,000-$85,000 per annum + superannuation).
