Job summary

Downer in Canberra region seeks a Quality Manager / Deputy Chief Engineer to lead EMS compliance and quality assurance for defense-related engineering. The role requires NV1 clearance and delivers oversight of audits, engineering plans, and standards conformance.

The successful candidate will drive continuous improvement, coordinate with project managers, and ensure compliance with Australian and international standards. ITAR restrictions apply; 12-month term at Fyshwick location.

Qualifications

• Experience preparing for AEO initial certification of an Engineering Management System.
• Ability to conduct reviews and analyses to assure EMS performance for AEO certification.
• Support to project/engineering managers for developing engineering plans.
• Review IWNSPO engineering artefacts for compliance with standards.
• Develop periodic IWNSPO internal audits to prepare for external AEO certification.
• Provide direction on Australian and international standards and regulations.
• Lead continual improvement actions across IWNSPO Engineering, Logistics and Cyber.
