Job summary

Lactalis-Mainland Dairy is seeking an experienced Site Quality Manager for the Spreyton site. You will lead the quality and food safety agenda, collaborating with Operations, Supply Chain, and Site Leadership to embed a culture of continuous improvement and compliance across all processes.

About the opportunity

We are seeking an experienced and driven Site Quality Manager to lead the quality and food safety agenda at our Spreyton site. This is a pivotal leadership role responsible for ensuring the highest standards of product quality, food safety, and regulatory compliance while fostering a culture of continuous improvement and operational excellence.

Working closely with Operations, Supply Chain, and Site Leadership teams, you will be instrumental in embedding quality best practices, enhancing performance, and ensuring our products consistently meet customer, regulatory, and business expectations.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and continuously improve the site's Quality and Food Safety Management Systems, ensuring compliance with all regulatory, customer, and industry standards.
• Manage internal, external, and customer audits, driving timely corrective and preventative actions to maintain accreditation and compliance requirements.
• Partner with cross-functional teams to champion a strong quality culture and deliver continuous improvement initiatives across the site.
• Provide expert technical guidance on food safety, product quality, customer requirements, and regulatory standards.
• Lead, mentor, and develop the Quality team, fostering capability, engagement, and high performance.
• Drive robust root cause analysis and effective corrective actions for quality incidents, non-conformances, and customer complaints.
• Champion Integrated Work Systems (IWS) principles and quality-focused improvement initiatives to enhance operational performance and efficiency.
• Monitor quality performance metrics and identify opportunities to strengthen systems, processes, and outcomes.

About You

You are an influential and solutions-focused quality professional with a proven track record in food manufacturing. With a strong understanding of quality systems and food safety standards, you excel at building collaborative relationships, driving continuous improvement, and leading teams to achieve exceptional results.

• Demonstrated experience in a senior Quality, Food Safety, or Technical leadership role within food manufacturing, dairy, or FMCG environments.
• Strong knowledge of food safety systems, HACCP, quality management frameworks, and regulatory requirements.
• Proven experience managing audits and maintaining compliance with customer, industry, and certification standards.
• Excellent leadership and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to influence and engage teams at all levels.
• A proactive and analytical approach to problem-solving, risk management, and continuous improvement.
• Experience within powder and butter manufacturing is highly desirable.
• A passion for developing people and fostering a culture of quality excellence.
