Lactalis-Mainland Dairy is seeking a Maintenance Fitter to uphold mechanical integrity of production lines, with a focus on safety, reliability and efficiency. You will diagnose issues, perform preventive maintenance, and support line changes and improvement initiatives.

You will join a skilled team across Campbellfield and Tullamarine, operating on day shifts, contributing to high-standard manufacturing environments in Australia.

About the Opportunity:

As a Maintenance Fitter, you will be responsible for ensuring the mechanical upkeep of our production lines and maintaining all machinery to the highest standards of safety, reliability, and operational efficiency.

Your role will involve proactively identifying and resolving issues, utilising your strong problem-solving skills to troubleshoot and repair breakdowns swiftly. You will also perform scheduled preventive maintenance daily to minimise downtime and maximise production efficiency.

You will also support key Maintenance & Engineering initiatives such as new line setups and continuous improvement programs.

The position includes a structured onboarding period, initially on day shift, to help you integrate smoothly into the team. You will join a skilled team of 15 experienced electricians and fitters, working collaboratively to ensure optimal performance across our operations.

This role may have you working between our Campbellfield and Tullamarine site to support our team when required.

About You

Your ability to flex between BAU, breakdowns, and project work, as well as your problem-solving mindset and ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment, will be highly valued, along with:

• C8 Qualification: Certified C8 technician with advanced technical expertise and proven capability in high-spec manufacturing environments.
• Welding Expertise: Proficient in multiple welding techniques with a strong focus on precision, safety, and durability.
• Machine Tool Operation: Skilled in the use of machine tools such as lathes and milling machines, maintaining high standards of accuracy and finish.
• Computer Literacy: Competent in MEX and similar ERP systems, ensuring efficient maintenance scheduling and data management.
• Manufacturing Background: Hands-on experience in high-demand industries like FMCG and pharmaceuticals, balancing productivity with strict quality controls.
• Problem Solving: Adept at fault-finding and resolving technical issues swiftly to reduce downtime and enhance operational efficiency.
• Results-Driven: Committed to delivering high-quality outcomes on time, with a strong focus on performance metrics and continuous improvement.
• Collaborative Communicator: A dependable team player with clear communication skills, fostering positive working relationships across departments.
• Additional Qualification (Advantageous): Holder of a Restricted Electrical License (REL), providing added capability for electrical-related maintenance tasks.
