Job summary

Rheem is seeking a skilled Quality Engineer in Moorabbin, VIC, with responsibility for maintaining and improving the ISO 9001 Quality Management System and leading cross-functional teams to resolve manufacturing and product quality issues. The role will relocate to Rydalmere, NSW, in 2028 as part of a planned transition.

You will drive corrective actions, support new product launches and collaborate with Manufacturing, R&D, Service and Supply Chain to enhance quality and performance across Rheem

Qualifications

• Engineering degree (Mechanical preferred) or equivalent.
• Experience in a ISO 9001 Quality Management System.
• Previous experience in a manufacturing environment.
• Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
• Experience with root-cause analysis and continuous improvement.
• Knowledge of Statistical Process Control (SPC) and variation reduction techniques.
• Experience implementing Poka-Yoke solutions.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
• Advanced Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint skills.
• A proactive, self-motivated approach with the ability to work independently and drive outcomes.

Responsibilities

• Lead cross-functional teams to investigate and resolve manufacturing and product quality issues.
• Maintain and continuously improve Rheem's ISO 9001 Quality Management System.
• Conduct root cause analysis and implement effective corrective and preventive actions.
• Drive initiatives that reduce scrap, rework and warranty-related issues.
• Support new product development and product launch activities from a quality perspective.
• Collaborate with Process and R&D Engineers to improve manufacturing processes and product quality.
• Implement and promote quality tools including Statistical Process Control (SPC) and FMEA.
• Partner with suppliers to improve component quality and resolve supplier-related issues.
• Support continuous improvement initiatives including Right First Time (RFT) and Kaizen activities.
• Participate in design reviews and quality improvement projects across the business.
• Lead quality activities for product transfers between sites, new product introductions, and manufacturing changes.
• Coordinate product and process validation activities, including FMEA development, Control Plans, PPAP assessments, reviews and approvals.
• Support production readiness activities through risk assessments, quality planning, and the development of Quality Work Instructions (QWIs).
