Job summary

Rheem Australia Pty Ltd is seeking a Quality Engineer to maintain and improve the ISO 9001 Quality Management System and collaborate with Manufacturing, R&D, Service, Marketing and Supply Chain to resolve quality issues and enhance product performance. The role will relocate to the Rydalmere manufacturing plant in NSW at the end of April 2028 as part of a planned transition.

Qualifications

• Engineering degree (Mechanical preferred) or equivalent trade-based qualification.
• Experience with ISO 9001 Quality Management System.
• Manufacturing environment experience.
• Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
• Experience with root cause analysis and continuous improvement.
• Knowledge of SPC, process capability and variation reduction.
• Experience implementing Poka-Yoke solutions.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management.
• Advanced Excel and PowerPoint skills.
• Proactive, self-motivated and able to work independently.

Responsibilities

• Lead cross-functional teams to investigate and resolve manufacturing and product quality issues.
• Maintain and continuously improve Rheem's ISO 9001 Quality Management System.
• Conduct root cause analysis and implement effective corrective and preventive actions.
• Drive initiatives that reduce scrap, rework and warranty-related issues.
• Support new product development and product launch activities from a quality perspective.
• Collaborate with Process and R&D Engineers to improve manufacturing processes and product quality.
• Implement and promote quality tools including SPC, process capability analysis and Poka-Yoke.
• Partner with suppliers to improve component quality and resolve supplier-related issues.
• Support continuous improvement initiatives, including Right-First-Time (RFT) and Kaizen.
• Participate in design reviews and quality improvement projects across the business.
• Lead quality activities for product transfers between sites, new product introductions, and manufacturing changes.
