Job summary

CORTO is hiring for a Quality Engineer to join our Quality Engineering team within the Accounting group. You will focus on ensuring quality and reliability for our AI-driven accounting products, collaborating with developers, UX/UI and DevOps to test new features and automate tests across web and API interfaces.

Qualifications

• Hands-on experience in software testing across web applications and APIs.
• Experience creating and maintaining automated tests.
• Experience with modern web or API automation tools and frameworks.
• Understanding of API testing, including HTTP requests, responses, status codes and common API behaviours.
• Experience performing functional, regression, smoke and exploratory testing.
• Good understanding of software testing principles, test design and defect management.
• Experience using version control such as Git and working within modern software development workflows.
• Some experience with CI/CD pipelines and understanding how automated tests fit into the development and release process.
• Ability to investigate failures and defects and work with developers to determine likely causes.
• Ability to translate product requirements into test scenarios.
• Good written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and seek guidance when needed.
• Proactive approach to learning and improving technical skills.
• Genuine interest in product quality and quality engineering.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, execute and maintain automated tests across web and API applications.
• Perform functional, regression, smoke and exploratory testing across new and existing products and features.
• Create clear and maintainable automated tests following QE standards and patterns.
• Test backend services and APIs, validating requests, responses, integrations and data.
• Collaborate with developers to investigate defects and understand technical changes.
• Refine requirements and discuss test scenarios early to identify risks.
• Contribute automated tests to CI/CD pipelines and investigate failures.
• Participate in code reviews and utilize feedback to improve test code.
• Document defects, test coverage, risks and testing outcomes clearly.
• Improve QE processes, automation coverage and testing practices across the team.
• Support testing of AI-enabled features using established tools and approaches.
• Share knowledge and participate in team learning and collaboration.
