Job summary

KAB Seating Pty Ltd is seeking a Quality Engineer to ensure CVG and KAB products meet national, international and internal standards across Australian locations. You will drive ISO compliance (9001/14001/45001), support new product introductions, and lead corrective actions from root cause analyses.

Reporting to the Operations Manager, you will collaborate with engineering, operations, and suppliers to maintain quality systems and drive improvement initiatives, including audits and regulatory

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering is preferred.
• Minimum of 2 years in a similar quality/engineering role.
• Experience with ISO9001/ISO14001/ISO45001 is desirable.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.

Responsibilities

• Ensure CVG products meet applicable standards and internal requirements.
• Maintain ISO9001, ISO14001, ISO45001 compliance across locations.
• Provide input on product selection, design and customer specifications.
• Develop and manage new product introductions from concept to completion
• Execute and manage Engineering Change Requests for product development
• Perform prototype testing with third-party consultants
• Verify product compliance with regulatory requirements
• Conduct customer site visits for product reviews and support
• Produce customer models and drawings as requested
• Lead non-conformance investigations and corrective actions
• Assist采购 to monitor supplier quality per ISO standards
• Engage stakeholders in QMS and SEMS reviews with Systems Administrator

KAB Seating Pty Ltd was established in Australia in 1984 and currently operates across 4 branches, Perth, Melbourne, New South Wales and Queensland with two manufacturing facilities among them. KAB provides quality seating options for forklift, mining, construction, marine, 4x4, emergency vehicles, defense, transport and more.

About the role

An opportunity to join the KAB team as the new Quality Engineer has become available. The Quality Engineer is responsible for ensuring that CVG products meet the relevant National, International, CVG Internal and KAB Seating Internal Standards; including legislative requirements as required by the relevant stakeholders in relation to Engineering innovation and new products. Reporting directly to the Operations Manager, the Quality Engineer will ensure the administrative maintenance and compliance with ISO9001, ISO14001, ISO45001 and other quality standards in all Australian KAB/CVG locations.

Key responsibilities

• Provide input and advice on the correct selection/application and design of products to internal and external customers
• Develop and manage new product introductions to suit customer specifications from concept through to completion
• Complete and manage Engineering Change Requests for continuing product development to suit customer requirements
• Perform physical testing on prototypes in conjunction with third party consultants
• Ensure that product meets all relevant internal and external standards and regulatory requirements to suit its intended application
• Conduct customer site visits as required for product reviews and technical support to major customers
• Develop and supply customer models and drawings of product range as requested
• Ensure compliance with ISO 9001, ISO14001 and ISO45001 requirements
• Complete quality assurance checks on product as required
• Champion Non-conformance root cause investigations and development and implementation of corrective actions
• Assist purchasing to monitor quality of suppliers in accordance with ISO9001, ISO14001 and ISO45001 requirements
• Assist in the engagement of key stakeholders in QMS and SEMS reviews and implementation to ensure compliance in conjunction with the Systems Administrator

About you

• Degree in Mechanical Engineering (preferable but not required)
• 2 or more years of relevant experience in similar roles
• LEAN manufacturing and continuous improvement experience
• Sound understanding of safety management and quality management requirements in a manufacturing environment
• Strong analytical skills
• Strong computer skills, including Microsoft office suites
• Excellent team building and interpersonal skills
• Excellent organisation and time management skills
