KBR in Australia is seeking an experienced Senior Manager, Quality Assurance to provide strategic leadership across the Quality organisation. This role ensures quality systems, processes, and practices are effectively implemented to support safe, reliable, compliant, and high-performing delivery outcomes.

You will lead quality governance, audits, inspections, and continuous improvement across multiple disciplines, influencing outcomes in a complex organisation.

Qualifications

• Undergraduate-degree in Quality, Engineering, Business or related discipline.
• Typically 12+ years of Quality Management experience with leadership of managers/senior technical professionals.
• Experience leading multiple quality disciplines within a complex organisation.
• Strong technical expertise in quality management systems, audits, inspections, testing, and improvement methodologies.
• Experience applying quality frameworks to contractual, regulatory, compliance, and product performance requirements.

Responsibilities

• Provide senior functional leadership across quality disciplines, teams and operations.
• Lead the implementation and continuous improvement of quality systems, standards, and governance frameworks.
• Ensure quality practices align with objectives, contractual requirements, regulatory obligations, and product performance expectations.
• Provide technical authority across quality assurance, audits, inspections, testing, and improvement methodologies.
• Oversee assurance activities to ensure products, materials, and processes meet quality, safety and compliance standards.
• Analyse quality data to identify trends and risks and drive improvements.
• Lead corrective and preventative action to address quality issues and strengthen performance.
• Drive consistency of quality practices across functions and product lines.
• Contribute to the development of quality strategy and enterprise standards.
• Partner with stakeholders to improve reliability and delivery outcomes.
• Build capability across Quality through coaching and mentoring.

The Opportunity

We are seeking an experienced Senior Manager, Quality Assurance to provide strategic leadership, technical expertise, and functional direction across our Quality organisation. This role is responsible for ensuring quality systems, processes, and practices are effectively implemented to support safe, reliable, compliant, and high-performing delivery outcomes.

Working across multiple disciplines, product lines, and operational areas, you will provide senior leadership to quality teams while acting as a trusted technical authority in quality assurance, governance, and continuous improvement. You will play a key role in strengthening quality capability, driving consistency of practice, and ensuring quality frameworks align with business objectives, customer requirements, and regulatory obligations.

This is an opportunity for an accomplished quality leader who can combine deep technical expertise with people leadership, strategic thinking, and the ability to influence outcomes across a complex organisation.

This is a permanent full-time opportunity and can be based in Canberra, Brisbane, Melbourne, Sydney or Adelaide.

The successful candidate must hold a Baseline security clearance or higher.

• Build capability across the Quality function through coaching, mentoring, and developing managers and technical specialists.

As the ideal candidate you will bring

Essential

• Undergraduate qualification in Quality, Engineering, Business, or a related discipline.
• Extensive experience in Quality Management (typically 12+ years), including demonstrated leadership experience managing managers or senior technical professionals.
• Proven experience leading multiple quality disciplines, teams, or functional areas within a complex organisation.
• Strong technical expertise across quality management systems, audits, inspections, testing, and quality improvement methodologies.
• Experience applying quality frameworks to contractual, regulatory, compliance, and product performance requirements.
• Demonstrated ability to combine technical authority with strategic leadership and people management responsibilities.
• Strong stakeholder engagement, influencing, and problem-solving capabilities.

Desirable

• Postgraduate qualifications in Quality, Engineering, Management, or a related discipline.
• Six Sigma Green Belt or Black Belt accreditation.
• Experience working within complex, multi-product, matrixed, or highly regulated environments.
• Experience contributing to global, enterprise-wide, or cross-functional quality strategies and processes.

All candidates will be required to hold and maintain an active Baseline Defence Security Clearance.
