Australian Automotive Group – Castle Hill NSW is seeking an experienced Quality Controller / Senior Road Tester to join our workshop operations on a full-time basis.

You will act as the final check point between our workshop technicians and our customers, ensuring that all servicing, warranty work, diagnostic fault corrections, and pre-delivery preparations meet Ford factory standards and dealership compliance requirements before vehicles leave the site.

Qualifications

• Certificate III in Automotive Light Vehicle Mechanical Technology required.
• Active NSW MVTR license highly regarded.
• Current NSW manual and automatic driving license with clean record.
• Experience with modern automotive diagnostics, vehicle electronics, and ADAS.
• Ability to inspect checklists systematically under peak workload.

Responsibilities

• Comprehensive road testing across speed zones and conditions.
• Verify that DTCs are cleared and recalibrations completed.
• Inspect repair orders for fluid levels, torques, tyre pressures, and presentation.
• Maintain digital road test logs and provide feedback to workshop staff.
• Identify recurring quality trends to improve workshop efficiency.

Power Ford Castle Hill is seeking an experienced Quality Controller / Senior Road Tester to join our workshop operations on a full-time basis.

In this position, you will act as the final check point between our workshop technicians and our customers. Your primary objective will be to independently verify that all scheduled servicing, warranty work, diagnostic fault corrections, and pre-delivery preparations meet Ford factory standards and dealership compliance requirements before vehicles leave the site.

Key Responsibilities

• Comprehensive Road Testing: Execute systematic road tests across various speed zones and road conditions to evaluate transmission performance, braking systems, wheel alignment, suspension response, and cabin noise levels.
• System & Diagnostic Verification: Ensure all reported customer concerns have been fully resolved and confirm that diagnostic trouble codes (DTCs) have been cleared and recalibrations completed.
• Quality & Workmanship Inspections: Inspect completed repair orders against physical workmanship, checking fluid levels, torque settings, tyre pressures, and clean vehicle presentation.
• Technical Documentation & Feedback: Maintain accurate digital logs of road test results and provide clear, constructive feedback to Workshop Supervisors and Technicians when re-work or further adjustments are necessary.
• Process Improvement: Assist the Workshop Controller in identifying recurring repair quality trends or pre-delivery issues to help streamline overall workshop efficiency.
• Safety & Regulatory Compliance: Conduct all vehicle testing in full accordance with NSW road rules, dealership safety policies, and local chain-of-responsibility standards.

Qualifications & Experience

• Trade Certification: Certificate III in Automotive Light Vehicle Mechanical Technology (or equivalent trade qualification); an active NSW MVTR license is highly regarded.
• Driving Record: Current, unrestricted NSW Manual and Automatic Driver’s License with an excellent driving record.
• Technical Knowledge: Proven background in modern automotive diagnostics, vehicle electronics, advanced driver-assistance systems (ADAS), and mechanical repair standards.
• Methodical Approach: Demonstrated ability to work systematically through inspection checklists without taking shortcuts under peak workload conditions.
• Communication Skills: Professional verbal and written communication skills to articulate technical findings clearly on job cards and report to service management.
• Prior Experience: Previous experience in a high-volume franchise dealership or dedicated quality control role will be advantageously considered.
