Job summary

Power Clipper Engineering in West Gosford, NSW is seeking a motivated Quality Control Inspector to join our precision machining team. You will inspect components, maintain quality records, and support continuous improvement across the workshop.

You\'ll work with machinists and production staff, interpret drawings and GD&T, manage NCRs, and help ensure ISO 9001 compliance. Experience in manufacturing or quality control is preferred, including reading engineering drawings, with aerospace exposure

Qualifications

• Experience in manufacturing, machining, engineering or quality control.
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings.
• Strong attention to detail and problem solving.
• Good communication and record-keeping skills.
• AS9102 or aerospace manufacturing experience is highly regarded.

Responsibilities

• First-off, in-process and final inspection.
• Programming and operating a ZEISS CMM using CALYPSO.
• Interpreting engineering drawings and GD&T.
• First Article Inspection and ballooned inspection reports.
• Managing NCRs, corrective actions and root-cause investigations.
• Maintaining ISO 9001 Quality Management System and audits.
• Internal audits and reviewing procedures for improvements.
• Material, batch, revision and subcontract traceability.
• Calibration and inspection equipment control; support machinists with quality issues.

Working closely with our machinists and production team, you will be responsible for inspecting components, maintaining quality records, and helping drive continuous improvement throughout the workshop.

Key Responsibilities

• First-off, in-process and final inspection

• Interpreting engineering drawings and GD&T
• First Article Inspection and ballooned inspection reports

• Monitoring and maintaining our ISO 9001 Quality Management System
• Preparing for and assisting with ISO audits
• Conducting internal audits
• Reviewing procedures and suggesting practical QMS improvements
• Material, batch, revision and subcontract process traceability
• Calibration and inspection equipment controlReviewing material and subcontractor certificates
• Supporting machinists with measurement and quality issues

Skills & Experience

The ideal candidate will have:

• Experience in manufacturing, machining, engineering, or quality control
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings
• Strong attention to detail
• Good problem-solving skills
• Ability to work independently and within a team
• Excellent communication and record-keeping skills
• AS9102, defence or aerospace manufacturing would be highly regarded.

Desirable

• Experience in a CNC machining environment
• Knowledge of ISO 9001 quality systems
• Experience with CMM inspection equipment
• Trade qualification in Engineering or related field
