Job summary

Australian Department of Defence – Canberra ACT is seeking an experienced Quality Manager within the Joint Proof and Experimental Unit (JPEU) to lead the QMS improvement, compliance with ISO 9001 and NATA 17025, and to drive audits and corrective actions across the organisation.

You will advise management, manage non-conformities, report on quality performance, and foster a culture of accountability and continuous improvement while coordinating with dispersed teams and stakeholders.

Qualifications

• Strong background in ISO 9001 QMS and NATA 17025 NDT.
• Experience in auditing, compliance, and corrective actions.
• Ability to analyse quality data and drive continuous improvement.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement.

Responsibilities

• Lead maintenance and continual improvement of the Quality Management System (QMS) including ISO 9001 and NATA 17025 standards.
• Oversee internal and external audit programs, manage non-conformities and corrective actions.
• Provide expert advice to management on quality, compliance, and assurance matters; support governance and decision-making.
• Drive initiatives that enhance organisational performance and embed a culture of accountability and continuous improvement.
