Job description

Job Title: Quality Assurance Field Assessor
Salary: £40,000- £43,000 + Company EV
Location: Remote / Field Based (note this role will need to be located in or near Newcastle )
Due to the nature of this role, you are required to be based in and around Newcastle. As a result this role will be predominantly field based, out on the road within your area, auditing our partners, and installers on site at regular intervals, alongside time working from home.

Here's what our QA Team Leader had to say:

“This is a great opportunity for someone who knows what good looks like when it comes to electrical installations and wants to have a real impact. You’ll have the autonomy to be out in the field, working closely with our installation partners, sharing your expertise and helping us continuously raise the bar on quality and safety. You don’t need to come from the EV industry, if you bring strong electrical knowledge, a coaching mindset and pride in high standards, we’ll help you build your expertise in EV.”

What You'll Do:
  • Overseeing testing, commissioning, and handover of charging units
  • Performing random quality audits to maintain consistency across installers and contractors
  • Monitoring the use of correct tools, protective devices (RCDs, MCBs, RCBOs), surge protection and general PPE
  • Ensure installers are competent with single-phase
  • Ensure installations are carried out to a professional standard, with tidy workmanship
  • Confirm proper user demonstrations and documentation are provided to customers
  • Handle escalations where installation quality is questioned
  • Promote awareness of updates in electrical regulations and industry standards
  • Support with technical questions raised from field team
  • Identify and act on process and procedures improvements, whilst on-site
  • Work with the H&S department to improve site safety and standards
  • Manage and check calibration of safety test equipment
  • Aid with the Certificate completion deadlines.
What You'll Bring:

We reckon this role would be perfect for someone who's got a passion for the electrical installations world, whilst you don't have to have worked in the EV world before, it would be advantageous if you did! The core skills we are looking for are:

  • NVQ Level 3 in Electrical Installation or
  • C&G Level 3 in Electrical Installation (2391)
  • Environmentally conscious, with a passion for sustainability
  • Full UK driving License
  • High level of knowledge around site health and safety
  • You’ll have proven experience of coaching others
  • Experience of completing end-to-end EV charger installations (preferred, not essential)
  • C&G Inspection and Testing (preferred, not essential)
What's In It For You?

If you love the electrical world but are ready to step beyond being on the tools every day, this could be a brilliant next move. You’ll become a trusted technical voice in the field, helping installers raise standards, solve problems and deliver great work for our customers. You’ll get plenty of autonomy, exposure to the rapidly growing EV and smart energy sector, and the chance to directly influence quality, safety and the way we work across Pod.

The Perks:

  • Access for you and up to 5 family/friends to the 'UnMind' wellbeing platform
  • Podpoint Charger
  • Discounted energy tariff (Pod Power or EDF Employee Programme)
  • Flexible hybrid working model
  • Work abroad for up to 20 days per year
  • Family & friend discount scheme
  • 25 days holiday (plus Bank Holidays)
  • Very generous parental and family leave
  • Pension scheme with a 4.5% matched contribution
  • Eyecare scheme
