Job summary

Huon Aquaculture is seeking a Quality Assurance Coordinator to join the Ingleburn Processing team on a 6-month term contract, with potential for full-time permanent placement. You will support daily QA functions, ensuring food safety, compliance, and quality processes across the site.

Reporting to the Senior Quality Assurance Associate, you will contribute to HACCP, audits, product quality and continuous improvement initiatives, collaborating with Production, Maintenance, Inventory, Dispatch,

Qualifications

• Experience in a quality assurance, food safety, or compliance role.
• Experience in a food manufacturing, processing, or production environment is highly regarded.
• Excellent organisational and time management skills.
• HACCP training would be an advantage.

Responsibilities

• Support the implementation and maintenance of food safety and quality systems.
• Conduct quality monitoring, testing, verification, and record keeping activities.
• Maintain quality documentation, forms, and controlled records.
• Monitor product quality, traceability, labelling, temperatures, and storage requirements.
• Ensure compliance with food safety standards, customer requirements, and company procedures.
• Identify and report non-conformances and assist with corrective actions.
• Support HACCP, food safety, and quality improvement initiatives.
• Assist with internal and external audits.
• Coordinate mock recalls and support product recall procedures when required.

About the role

As a Quality Assurance Coordinator, your responsibilities will include:

• Supporting the implementation and maintenance of food safety and quality systems.
• Conducting quality monitoring, testing, verification, and record keeping activities.
• Maintaining quality documentation, forms, and controlled records.
• Monitoring product quality, traceability, labelling, temperatures, and storage requirements.
• Ensuring compliance with food safety standards, customer requirements, and company procedures.
• Identifying and reporting non-conformances and assisting with corrective actions.
• Supporting HACCP, food safety, and quality improvement initiatives.
• Assisting with internal and external audits.
• Coordinating mock recalls and supporting product recall procedures when required.Assisting with approved supplier, pest control, and equipment calibration programs.
• Supporting new product development trials and validation activities.
• Working closely with Production, Maintenance, Inventory, Dispatch, and Quality teams to maintain quality standards.

About you

You will bring:

• Previous experience in a quality assurance, food safety, or compliance role.
• Experience within a food manufacturing, processing, or production environment is highly regarded.
• Strong attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy.
• HACCP training would be an advantage.
• Excellent organisational and time management skills.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Intermediate computer and data entry skills.
• The ability to work collaboratively across multiple teams.
• A proactive approach to problem-solving and continuous improvement.
• A strong commitment to workplace safety, food safety, and quality standards.
