Job summary

Berkeley Engineering Group in Australia is seeking a Quality Assurance Coordinator for a precision manufacturing environment. You will maintain the Quality Management System, support ISO accreditation, coordinate audits, and ensure products meet engineering and customer requirements.

Working closely with the manufacturing team, you will perform inspections, manage calibration schedules for measuring equipment, support Lean initiatives and supplier quality, and drive continuous improvement toward

• Experience in a manufacturing or precision engineering environment with strong quality systems understanding.
• Experience with steel and metal components and precision measuring tools.
• Knowledge of ISO 9001 Quality Management Systems and audits.

Responsibilities

• Maintain QMS in line with ISO 9001 requirements.
• Assist ISO accreditation and audits, including documentation and coordination.
• Coordinate inspections (incoming, in-process, final).
• Manage calibration schedules for measuring equipment and record accuracy.
• Support Lean manufacturing and 5S initiatives; drive continuous improvement.
• Contribute to supplier quality assurance and vendor performance monitoring.
• Manage non-conforming products and support root-cause analysis and corrective actions.

About the Opportunity

We are seeking a Quality Assurance Coordinator to join our team in a precision manufacturing environment producing specialist steel and metal components.

This is an exciting opportunity for someone looking to grow their career into a QA Manager role, with progression based on performance, capability and leadership development.

Working closely with the manufacturing team, you will play a key role in maintaining quality standards, supporting ISO compliance and ensuring products meet strict engineering and customer requirements.

Key Responsibilities

• Support the development, implementation and maintenance of the Quality Management System (QMS) in line with ISO 9001 requirements.
• Assist with ISO accreditation and certification processes, including documentation, preparation and audit coordination.
• Ensure ongoing compliance with customer, engineering and regulatory requirements.
• Coordinate incoming, in-process and final product inspections.
• Manage calibration schedules for micrometres, callipers, gauges and other measuring equipment.
• Maintain accurate calibration and quality records.
• Support Lean manufacturing and 5S initiatives.
• Assist with supplier quality assurance and vendor performance monitoring.
• Manage non-conforming products and support root-cause analysis and corrective actions.
• Maintain controlled quality documentation and reporting.
• Identify opportunities for process improvement and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.

About You

Ideally, you’ll have experience in a manufacturing or precision engineering environment, with a strong understanding of quality systems and manufacturing processes. Experience working with steel and metal components, including a sound understanding of metal characteristics, will be highly valued.

What You Will Bring

• Proven experience in manufacturing, ideally within a precision engineering environment.
• Familiarity with CNC machining, including mills and lathes.
• Strong understanding of ISO 9001 and Quality Management Systems.
• Experience using precision measuring equipment and managing calibration requirements.
• Exposure to supplier quality assurance and vendor management.
• Understanding of Lean manufacturing and 5S principles.
• Experience managing non-conformances and corrective actions.
• Excellent attention to detail with a methodical and structured approach to quality.
• Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
• A proactive, accountable and continuous improvement mindset.

Desirable

• Qualification in Engineering, Manufacturing, Quality or a related discipline.
• Experience supporting ISO certification, audits or QMS implementation.
• Previous experience in a CNC machining or precision manufacturing environment.
