Job summary

That's Amore Cheese, a leading Melbourne cheese producer, is seeking a Quality Assurance Coordinator to ensure food safety and quality across operations. The role emphasizes FSANZ/DFSV compliance, GMP and HACCP knowledge, and involvement with supplier oversight.

Ideal candidates bring 2+ years of QA/QC experience in FMCG and familiarity with ERP systems for day-to-day QA tasks, audits, and process improvements.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years in Quality Assurance/Quality Control in FMCG.
• Knowledge of FSANZ and DFSV regulations, GMP and HACCP systems.
• Exposure to day-to-day operational activities and process improvements.

Responsibilities

• Assist QM to ensure QMS conforms to FSANZ, DFSV and DAFF requirements.
• Implement and oversee quality control and compliance policies for food safety and quality.
• Promote process improvements and ensure integrity of the QMS during changes.
• Report on QMS performance and opportunities for improvement to management.
• Coordinate and sign off on customer/consumer complaints and non-conformances.
• Oversee approved supplier program and conduct verification/validation per QMS.

We are currently seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Quality Assurance Coordinator to join our team and play a key role in ensuring the continued excellence of our products.

This role is ideal for a mature age candidate looking to re-enter the workforce or a candidate with relevant experience looking for part-time work.

Required Experience to be successful in the role:

Minimum2 years in Quality Assurance/Quality control role in FMCG

Knowledgeable in FSANZ and DFSVregulations, production processes, GMP and HACCP management system

Exposure to Operational day to day activities

Preferred Experience but not essential:

Dairy Industry Experience

Laboratory/ Products Testing Experience

Auditing accordingto Quality systems

Knowledge of Food Manufacturing processes

Working knowledge of ERP software.

Tasks & Responsibilities

Assist QM in ensuring that the Quality Management System conforms to the requirements of FSANZ, DFSV and DAFF regulatory requirements

Implement and oversee quality control and compliance policies and procedures to ensure regulatory compliance for Food Safety, Quality, and industry trade requirements

Promote improvements to processes and the Quality Management System

Ensure that the integrity of the Quality Management System is maintained when changes are planned and implemented

Report on the performance of the Quality Management System, and on opportunities for improvement, to the director and management team

Provide risk assessment in the event of any process deviations so good risk management decisions can be made using the tools available.

Oversee approved supplier program

Verification and validation activities as per QMS

Participate in continued minimisation and mitigation of risk through appropriate risk-based decision making and analysis.

Coordinate and sign off on customer/consumer complaints and non-conformances as required by QMS.

Promote lead and influence alongside the rest of the technical team a strong food safety culture onsite with full implementation of all corporate expectations.

Assess and communicate and where necessary, escalates risks in food safety, quality and compliance.

To be successful in this role, the Quality Assurance Coordinator must have:

Great communication skills in order to maintain and strengthen internal and external communications amongst the That's Amore team and external contract laboratories, auditors, suppliers and customer base

Goodwritten and verbal skills with the ability to clearly communicate information to Management and Production Teams
