Job summary

Cavanagh Painting and Maintenance on the Sunshine Coast currently seeks an experienced, qualified painter to join our small family‑owned team in Caloundra West, QLD. Immediate start with a full‑time schedule 7:00am–3:00pm, Monday to Friday.

The role covers interior and exterior residential repaints, new builds and maintenance projects with a strong pipeline through 2026 and beyond. You’ll work directly with the owner in a tight, supportive team environment.

Qualifications

• Qualified painter and decorator OR substantial professional painting experience.
• Ability to complete painting work with minimal supervision.
• Pride in preparation and achieving high-quality finishes.
• Reliable, punctual and a team player.
• Driver's licence and reliable transport.

Responsibilities

• Interior and exterior painting across residential repaints and new builds.
• Preparation, patching, sanding and caulking.
• Brush, roller and spray application where appropriate.

QUALIFIED PAINTER – IMMEDIATE START – SUNSHINE COAST

$40–$45/hr + super | Full-time hours | Ongoing work | Immediate start

Cavanagh Painting & Maintenance is looking for an experienced, qualified painter to join our small team on the Sunshine Coast.

We have a strong pipeline of confirmed work booked for the remainder of 2026 and beyond and are looking for someone who wants consistent, ongoing work with a small family-owned business.

This is a genuine painting role - not a labouring or entry-level position.

THE ROLE

You'll work directly alongside the business owner across residential repaints, new builds and maintenance projects throughout the Sunshine Coast.

Monday–Friday | 7:00am–3:00pm

You'll be carrying out all aspects of the trade, including:

• Interior and exterior painting
• Preparation, patching, sanding and caulking
• Brush, roller and spray application where appropriate
• Walls, ceilings, doors, trims and exterior surfaces
• Residential repaints and new-build work
• Producing clean, professional finishes
• Maintaining a clean and organised worksite

WE'RE LOOKING FOR SOMEONE WHO

• Is a qualified painter and decorator OR has substantial professional painting experience
• Can confidently complete painting work without constant supervision
• Takes pride in preparation and quality finishes
• Is reliable and turns up when they say they will
• Works well as part of a small team
• Has a current driver's licence and reliable transport
