Job summary

Rods Mechanical Repairs in Blacktown is seeking a qualified Light Vehicle Mechanic for our busy workshop. The role requires diagnosing, servicing and repairing a wide range of light vehicles with tools provided. You will work independently or as part of a team, with overtime available.

Preference for Certificate III in Light Vehicle Mechanical Technology, current MV Tradesperson Certificate or willingness to obtain one, and a valid driver’s license. Pay rate based on skills and experience.

Qualifications

• Certificate III in Light Vehicle Mechanical Technology with minimum 2 years experience.
• 3rd or 4th year apprentice can also apply.
• Must have own tools.
• Honest and reliable.
• Must have a driver licence.
• Current Motor Vehicle Tradesperson Certificate or willing to get one.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose, troubleshoot and repair faults.
• Use diagnostic scanners, compression tester & pressure testing equipment.
• Engine & transmission replacement.
• Tyre replacement, wheel balancing & wheel alignment.
• Troubleshooting

Qualified light vehicle mechanic or third year apprentice

We are looking for a qualified Light Vehicle Mechanic for our Blacktown based workshop.

Workshop operates 6 days a week.

Successful applicant has to be able to independently work on light vehicles of all makes and models including Japanese and European cars.

Responsible for the general maintenance, servicing light vehicles, brakes, clutch, engine and gearbox replacements.

Preferred candidates for qualified mechanic job are expected to have:

Certificate III in Light Vehicle Mechanical Technology with minimum 2 years experience.

3rd or 4th year apprentice can also apply

Must have own tools.

Honest and reliable

Must have a driver licence

Current Motor Vehicle Tradesperson Certificate or willing to get one.
