TDK Haulage is a family owned and operated business based in Morwell, Victoria, specialising in moving plant and equipment and overdimensional loads. We’re looking for a qualified diesel mechanic who is also willing to operate a truck when mechanical work is quiet.

Your primary role will be as our mechanic, keeping our trucks and trailers maintained, safe and ready for work. When there is no mechanical work scheduled, you’ll join our transport operations, moving plant, equipment and overdimensional loads.

About the role

• Servicing, maintaining and repairing American and Japanese trucks, along with trailers.
• Diagnosing faults and completing mechanical, electrical, air and hydraulic system repairs within your capabilities.
• Carrying out preventative maintenance, inspections and breakdown repairs.
• Maintaining accurate service and repair records.
• Operating trucks to transport plant, equipment and overdimensional loads when required.
• Safely loading, unloading and securing machinery and equipment.
• Keeping the workshop organised and maintaining a safe working environment.

About you

• A recognised diesel mechanic or heavy vehicle mechanical trade qualification.
• Experience working on American / Japanese trucks and trailers.
• A current Heavy Combination (HC) truck licence or higher, non-synchromesh (Road Ranger) transmissions — essential.
• Strong fault-finding skills and pride in the quality of their work.
• A willingness to move between workshop duties and truck driving as required.
• A reliable, practical approach and the ability to work independently.
• A commitment to safe work practices and looking after our equipment and customers.
• Forklift and elevated work platform qualifications, including experience with platforms above 7 metres, would be an advantage but are not essential. Training can be provided.

Hours and pay

Monday to Friday, 7 am to 3 pm.

$38–$45 per hour, depending on experience and capabilities.

Overtime available most days, paid at the agreed flat hourly rate.

Penalty rates apply on Sundays and public holidays only.
