Job summary

Enviro Sweep in Townsville, QLD is hiring a full-time plant/ diesel mechanic to join our busy workshop. You will service and repair a range of street sweeping machinery, diagnose diesel engine faults, and perform on-site maintenance to keep our fleet moving.

We value a self-motivated, safety-focused individual with solid mechanical, auto-electrical and hydraulic skills, plus at least two years' experience. A MR or higher licence and teamwork are essential for success.

Qualifications

• Proven mechanical knowledge with auto-electrical, electrical and hydraulic skills.
• Minimum two years' experience servicing heavy or light diesel equipment.
• Possession of MR or higher driver's licence is required.
• Commitment to safety and ability to work autonomously in a small team.

Responsibilities

• Perform scheduled service and repair work on site machinery.
• Diagnose diesel engine faults and perform repairs/reconditioning.
• Diagnose, troubleshoot and rectify vehicle control systems.
• Replace or refurbish worn components and perform on-site servicing.
• Attend service calls and occasionally drive sweeper vehicles.

About the Role

This full-time position based in Townsville, QLD will be working in a small yet active and friendly team and will report to the Branch Manager. The successful mechanic will be responsible for:

• The completion of all required and scheduled service and repair work on various machinery on site
• Diesel engine fault diagnosis, repairs and reconditioning
• Diagnostics, troubleshooting and rectification of vehicle control system
• Replacement or service/refurbishment of perishable/useful life or consumable machine components
• On site repairs and servicing
• Attendance to service calls when required
• Occasional driving of sweeper vehicles as needed

• Proficient mechanical knowledge and demonstrated auto-electrical, electrical and hydraulic skills
• At least two years’ relevant employment experience servicing and maintaining heavy or light diesel products
• Driver's licence rated MR or higher
• Commitment to maintain and adhere to safety guidelines
• Ability to work autonomously whilst maintaining a company driven focus
