Job summary

DroneShield, based in Sydney, is seeking a QA Software Engineer to join our Sydney team. You will contribute to testing and validation of embedded sensors and software platforms, supporting automation efforts and ensuring product reliability across releases.

You will develop and maintain automated tests, collaborate with software and hardware engineers, and support release validation activities within established QA frameworks.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or related field.
• 3-5 years of experience in Software QA, Verification & Validation, or Test Engineering.
• Experience testing embedded or hardware-integrated systems is desirable.
• Strong Python skills with experience using pytest, Playwright, Selenium, or similar frameworks.
• Familiarity with Linux environments and basic scripting.
• Experience working with JIRA, Confluence, and CI/CD pipelines.
• Ability to work independently on assigned tasks while collaborating effectively within a team.
• Detail-oriented with a strong focus on product quality and reliability.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

About The Role

DroneShield is seeking a QA Software Engineer to join our Sydney team. You will contribute to the testing and validation of embedded sensors and software platforms, supporting automation efforts and ensuring product reliability across releases.

This role involves hands-on testing, developing and maintaining automated tests, collaborating with software and hardware engineers, and supporting release validation activities. You will work within established QA frameworks and processes while contributing ideas for continuous improvement.
