Job summary

Gundagai Meat Processors in Wodonga is seeking a hands-on Quality Assurance and WHS role that balances HACCP/SQF compliance with safety and cold store support. You will engage in audits, monitor quality systems, and assist with day-to-day operations across the site.

The role offers variety across QA, safety, and cold storage, suited to a team-oriented individual who can adapt to changing needs and show practical problem-solving across processes.

Qualifications

• HACCP and/or SQF training and working knowledge.
• Understanding of quality systems.
• Audit experience, both internal and external.
• Computer literate in Word and Excel, and willing to learn warehousing and export systems.
• Forklift licence preferred, or willingness to obtain one.
• Experience in the meat industry is an advantage, but not essential.
• A genuine team player with an outgoing, positive personality.

Job description

Gundagai Meat Processors (GMP) is a family-owned lamb processor and exporter, supplying customers across Australia and into around 70 international markets. Our Wodonga site handles cold storage and export logistics for the business. It's a small, close-knit team where everyone pitches in to make sure every part of the operation is covered.

About the role

This is a varied position split roughly as follows: Quality Assurance (50%): maintaining and supporting quality systems, monitoring HACCP and SQF compliance, and taking part in internal and external audits. Work Health & Safety (30%): supporting safe work practices across the site, including inspections, hazard reporting and safety documentation. Cold store support (20%): helping the coldstore team with day-to-day operations when needed.
