Recognised for delivering premium products and technical excellence, this business operates with a strong commitment to operational excellence, quality, and technical compliance. This key leadership position oversees quality assurance and regulatory compliance across the group's regional operations.

The Role:

The QA & Product Compliance Manager is a key member of the Research & Development team, reporting directly to the R&D Director. The role is responsible for leading the Quality Assurance and Product Compliance functions across the regional group of companies.

The position ensures the development, implementation, and continuous improvement of quality management systems, product compliance processes, and regulatory obligations. The role partners closely with internal stakeholders, suppliers, regulators, and broader group teams to ensure all products meet applicable standards and certification requirements while supporting business objectives, customer satisfaction, and operational excellence.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Quality Leadership & General Management: Lead the Quality Assurance and Product Compliance teams. Align all quality and compliance activities with lean principles, policies, and procedures. Develop, monitor, and control budgets covering internal and external quality and compliance services. Manage and administer the Non-Conformance Report (NCR) system, including Engineering Change Notices and related activities, while providing strategic leadership for quality initiatives.
  • Quality Management Systems: Establish, implement, and maintain Quality Management Systems (QMS) across applicable entities, ensuring ongoing compliance and third-party certification to AS/NZS ISO 9001 standards. Organise quality programs, policies, procedures, systems, budgets, and resource planning. • Product Compliance Management: Ensure all products sold comply with applicable standards and regulatory requirements across electrical safety, operational efficiency, functional performance, EMC, fire performance, and acoustic performance. Ensure Supplier Declarations of Compliance (SDoCs) are generated and maintained. Maintain product registrations across certification schemes (including EESS, GEMS/MEPS, and ActivFire), manage compliance activities for new product introductions to meet project timelines, and ensure cost-effective certifications and renewals.
  • Stakeholder Management & Continuous Improvement: Collaborate with internal teams, suppliers, regulators, and certification bodies to support quality and compliance objectives. Facilitate effective communication regarding compliance requirements, promote continuous improvement initiatives across quality and compliance functions, and support the implementation of best practice processes and systems.
  • Health, Safety & Compliance: Promote and support a safe, healthy, and compliant workplace by ensuring adherence to all site safety rules, procedures, and legislative requirements. Identify, report, and address workplace hazards and unsafe conditions while supporting incident reporting, investigations, and corrective actions. Maintain compliance with company policies, safety standards, and environmental obligations.
Core Competencies:
  • Executive Quality Leadership: Demonstrated experience in Quality Assurance, Product Compliance, or related management roles, with proven leadership experience managing technical or specialist teams.
  • QMS & Technical Expertise: Formal training in quality processes, auditing, and Quality Management Systems, with strong working knowledge of ISO 9001 standards and working knowledge of ISO 17025 compliance requirements. Qualifications and/or experience in engineering or a related technical discipline are preferred.

Ability to interpret technical drawings and specifications.
  • Commercial & Operational Acumen: Ability to develop, monitor, and control budgets, manage warranty costs, administer NCR and Engineering Change Notice systems, and drive continuous improvement initiatives using lean principles.
  • Stakeholder & Change Leadership: Strong stakeholder engagement, communication, and relationship management skills across internal multi-disciplinary networks, external suppliers, consultants, certification bodies, and regulatory authorities.
