Sharp & Carter's client, an established Australian food manufacturer in Sydney, is seeking a Quality Coordinator to support quality and food safety systems on the factory floor. You will work with production and quality teams to maintain HACCP compliance and drive continuous improvement.

The role involves audits, non-conformance management, documentation, traceability, and immediate hands-on problem solving across the site to ensure product quality and regulatory compliance.

Qualifications

  • Experience in a Quality Coordinator/QA role within food manufacturing.
  • Strong HACCP and food safety knowledge.
  • Experience with internal, customer, regulatory, or third-party audits.
  • Attention to detail and stakeholder management.
  • Hands-on on-floor quality approach.

Responsibilities

  • Support the day-to-day quality and food safety function across the site.
  • Be hands-on and visible across the manufacturing floor.
  • Maintain HACCP and food safety systems.
  • Support audits (internal, customer, regulatory, third-party).
  • Manage and follow up non-conformances and corrective actions.
  • Support quality investigations and root cause analysis.
  • Collaborate with production to maintain product quality and food safety standards.
  • Maintain quality documentation, records and reporting.
  • Support traceability and recall activities.
  • Monitor raw materials, processes and finished products.
  • Assist with export and regulatory requirements.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Provide practical quality support to operational teams.
  • Help drive a strong quality and food safety culture.

About the Role

The Quality Coordinator will play an important role in supporting the site's quality and food safety systems, working closely with the Quality and Operations teams to maintain high standards across the manufacturing operation.

This is a hands-on role suited to someone who enjoys being on the floor, working closely with production and getting involved across all areas of quality.

Key responsibilities include:
  • Supporting the day-to-day quality and food safety function across the site
  • Being hands-on and visible across the manufacturing floor
  • Maintaining HACCP and food safety systems
  • Supporting internal, customer, regulatory, and third-party audits
  • Managing and following up non-conformances and corrective actions
  • Supporting quality investigations and root cause analysis
  • Working closely with production to maintain product quality and food safety standards
  • Maintaining quality documentation, records, and reporting
  • Supporting traceability and recall activities
  • Monitoring raw materials, production processes, and finished products

Skills & Experience

To be successful in this role, you will have:

  • Previous experience in a Quality Coordinator, QA Officer, QA Technician, or similar role within food manufacturing
  • Strong understanding of HACCP and food safety principles
  • Experience working within a food manufacturing environment
  • Exposure to internal, customer, regulatory, or third-party audits
  • Experience managing non-conformances and corrective actions
  • Strong attention to detail and organisational skills
  • Good communication and stakeholder management skills
  • A practical and hands-on approach to quality
  • Ability to work collaboratively with production and operational teams
  • A willingness to get involved on the floor and take ownership of your responsibilities
  • A continuous improvement mindset
