Job summary

x-RD is an award-winning Australian technology company delivering secure applications, systems integration and AI platforms for Defence and Government clients. We seek a Software Developer to design and build production-grade Python applications, from data pipelines to AI platforms and backend services.

Under general direction, you will own features from concept to deployment, collaborate with product owners and Commonwealth clients, and uphold high engineering standards across our development

Qualifications

• 3+ years of professional experience writing production-grade Python.
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines and automated testing.
• Tertiary qualifications in software engineering, computer science or information technology.
• Confidence liaising with technical and non-technical clients across Government, academic, or commercial sectors.
• Australian Citizenship is mandatory with ability to obtain and maintain an Australian Government Security Clearance (NV2 or above).

Responsibilities

• Design, deliver, and maintain secure Python software across data pipelines, automation, and backend architectures.
• Write well-tested code with robust automated test coverage (unit, integration, system).
• Own assigned features from concept to deployment and drive milestones.
• Collaborate with Commonwealth clients, partners and contractors while upholding company values and conduct standards.
• Contribute to design decisions and document functional procedures.
