Job summary

Westpac Group is seeking a Python Developer / Integration & Automation Engineer to design and build integration solutions, automation capabilities, and APIs that streamline data movement across enterprise systems. You will work across modern cloud platforms to create scalable data workflows and robust automation that delivers real business outcomes.

The role focuses on backend Python development with emphasis on automation and integration across on-premise and cloud environments, including API

Qualifications

• Strong Python development experience focusing on backend systems and automation.
• Experience building and maintaining APIs and system integrations.
• Hands-on with Playwright, Puppeteer or Selenium.
• Knowledge of data processing, document parsing, and structured/unstructured data.

As a Python Developer / Integration & Automation Engineer, you'll play a key role in designing and developing integration solutions, automation capabilities, and APIs that help streamline how information moves across our environment. You'll work across modern cloud platforms and enterprise systems, creating scalable solutions that extract, transform, and deliver data where it's needed most.

You'll enjoy solving complex technical challenges, improving data flows, and building robust automation that supports real business outcomes. From developing integration services and APIs to working with web automation and document processing, you'll have the opportunity to build solutions that make a genuine impact.

This is a full time hybrid role based on the Gold Coast, Queensland.

What do I need?

• Strong Python development experience with a focus on backend systems and automation
• Experience building and maintaining APIs and system integrations
• Hands on experience with automation frameworks such as Playwright, Puppeteer or Selenium
• Knowledge of data processing, document parsing, and working with structured and unstructured data sources
• Strong understanding of SQL databases and modern integration technologies including REST APIs
