Job summary

Austruss Pty Ltd is seeking a motivated trainee to learn how to operate our purlin roll‑forming line and understudy the project leader. You’ll be trained in machine setup, quality checks, material handling, and safe factory operations.

Austruss is a growing fabricator of Light Guage Steel Frames, Trusses and structural products for building schools and aged care centres. Come and learn a specialised trade in steel roll‑forming.

No experience needed — full training provided.

About the Role

We’re seeking an enthusiastic, physically able, reliable, hands‑on trainee to learn how to operate our purlin roll‑forming line and understudying our project leader. You’ll be trained in machine setup, quality checks, material handling, and safe factory operations.

What You’ll Do

• Assist with operating roll‑forming and punching equipment
• Perform basic measurements and quality checks
• Understand the end‑to‑end production processes and the importance of feeding downstream processes
• Load/unload coil and support changeovers
• Follow safety procedures and maintain a clean work area

What You Bring

• Mechanical aptitude and willingness to learn (you must be able to demonstrate this) demonstrated by an interest in machinery of any type
• Strong work ethic and reliability and a positive attitude will go a long way to creating respect
• Ability to work with highly experienced people in a safe production environment
• Forklift license (or willingness to obtain)
