Job summary

Stellar Recruitment in Townsville is seeking experienced Forklift Operators / Production Loaders for a busy steel and sheet metal facility. Based in Bohle, this hands-on role offers ongoing full-time hours, day shift options, and a pathway to a permanent position within a growing manufacturing business.

You will move materials, load trucks, operate production lines and gantry cranes (training provided), with a strong emphasis on safety and teamwork.

Qualifications

• Current LF Forklift Licence required.
• Experience operating forklifts in manufacturing or warehouse settings.
• Able to handle long-length or non-standard materials.
• Physically fit for manual handling tasks.
• Strong commitment to workplace safety; gantry crane experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Operate forklifts to move steel coils, sheet metal and finished products.
• Load and unload trucks with steel roofing, walling and oversized materials.
• Feed sheet metal into and out of production machinery and roll-forming lines.
• Apply protective films to finished products.
• Safely load steel coils onto mills and production equipment.
• Complete load restraint and strapping duties for transport.
• Operate gantry cranes (training provided).
• Maintain a clean and safe work environment.

The Opportunity Due to continued growth, our client is seeking experienced Forklift Operators / Production Loaders to join their Townsville operation. This is a hands on role within a fast-paced manufacturing environment, working with sheet metal and steel building products used across commercial and residential projects.

Key Responsibilities

• Operate forklifts to move steel coils, sheet metal and finished products throughout the facility
• Load and unload trucks with steel roofing, walling and other oversized materials
• Feed sheet metal into and out of production machinery and roll-forming lines
• Apply adhesive coatings and protective films to finished products
• Safely load steel coils onto mills and production equipment
• Complete load restraint and strapping duties for transport
• Operate gantry cranes (training provided)
• Perform manual handling tasks and stand for extended periods throughout the shift
• Work closely with production and dispatch teams to meet daily targets
• Maintain a clean and safe work environment

About You

• Current LF Forklift Licence
• Experience operating forklifts in manufacturing, warehouse or steel environments
• Comfortable handling long-length or non-standard materials
• Physically fit and capable of manual handling duties
• Strong commitment to workplace safety
• Gantry crane experience highly regarded but not essential
• Reliable, team-focused and able to work in a fast-paced environment

Essential Requirements

• Current LF Forklift Licence
• Previous experience loading steel, timber, piping, or oversized products
• Experience operating forklifts in manufacturing, transport, yard, or warehouse environments
• Understanding of load restraint and safe loading practices
• Ability to work day shift
