The right product. The right place. The right time. Every time.

Are you someone who takes pride in getting the details right? The person who is meticulous, organised, naturally curious and always one step ahead? Someone people trust because they know you'll follow things through and nothing slips past you?

We're excited to announce we are looking for a hands-on Purchasing & Inventory Coordinator to join our down-to-earth manufacturing team at Yatala.

This is an important role in keeping our production operation running smoothly. You'll take ownership of the purchasing and inventory control of packaging materials, ensuring our manufacturing teams have exactly what they need, when they need it, without tying up unnecessary cash in excess stock or creating pressure on valuable warehouse space.

We're looking for someone who genuinely enjoys the detail, thrives on keeping things organised and understands that great inventory management is about much more than counting stock. It's about thinking ahead, anticipating problems, building strong supplier relationships and ensuring production never misses a beat.

What you'll be doing

Working closely with Production, Planning, Warehousing and Procurement, you'll be responsible for ensuring the availability and effective management of packaging materials, primarily corrugates and films.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Purchasing & replenishment: Managing purchasing requirements and ensuring packaging materials are ordered in the right quantities and delivered at the right time to meet production demands.

  • Inventory control: Maintaining accurate inventory records, monitoring stock levels and investigating discrepancies to ensure our systems reflect what's physically on hand.

  • Forward planning: Working ahead of production requirements, identifying potential supply gaps and taking action before they become a problem.

  • Supplier management: Building strong, productive relationships with suppliers, monitoring delivery performance and following up on outstanding orders and commitments.

  • Cost and waste management: Balancing stock availability with working capital, warehouse capacity, minimum order quantities and the risk of obsolete or excess inventory.

  • Reporting and analysis: Using purchasing and inventory data to identify trends, monitor performance and make informed decisions.

  • Continuous improvement: Identifying opportunities to improve purchasing processes, inventory accuracy, supplier performance and overall efficiency.

What will make you successful?

Ideally, you'll bring experience in purchasing, inventory control, materials coordination or supply chain within a manufacturing or fast-moving operational environment.

You'll also ideally have:

  • Experience managing purchase orders, supplier deliveries and inventory replenishment.

  • An understanding of stock control principles, inventory accuracy and forecasting.

  • Strong Excel and systems skills, with the ability to interpret and work with data.

  • Experience working with ERP, purchasing or inventory management systems.

  • The confidence to investigate discrepancies, challenge inaccuracies and resolve issues.

  • Exposure to packaging materials, manufacturing consumables or production planning would be advantageous.

Most importantly, we're looking for someone with the right mindset. Someone who understands that the smallest details can have a significant impact on production, cost and customer outcomes.
