Job summary

National Oilwell Varco (NOV) is seeking a Pump Service Fitter to support NSW operations by performing equipment assessments, repairs, and servicing at in-house workshops and customer sites. You will uphold safety standards, provide accurate job reporting, and work with a team to deliver high-quality, on-time service across our fluid motion solutions portfolio.

The role requires a trade qualification, a valid driver’s licence, forklift licence, and willingness to travel as needed; ISO and OHS

Qualifications

• Trade qualification in mechanical or electrical fitting.
• Experience with pump and rotating equipment repairs.
• Proven ability to report accurately and communicate with customers.

Responsibilities

• Carry out pump assessments, internal/external repairs, and warranty evaluations.
• Ensure quality of completed jobs prior to dispatch.
• Operate and maintain service equipment, tools, forklifts, and cranes safely.
• Work closely with team members to ensure efficient operations.
• Maintain a clean and safe workshop environment.
• Follow all NOV safety procedures and company policies.
• Provide accurate job reporting and timely communication.
• Demonstrate professionalism, technical integrity, and a customer-first attitude.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Essential Qualifications & Licences

• Trade-qualified Mechanical or Electrical Fitter
• Valid Driver’s Licence
• Forklift Licence
• Confined Space Entry (preferred)
• Disconnect/Reconnect Restricted Electrical (preferred)

Experience & Skills

• Proven experience in pump and rotating equipment repairs (including Progressive Cavity Pumps)
• Strong problem-solving and communication skills
• Ability to work under pressure with good time management
• Capable of using service software and internal IT systems
• Willingness to work flexible hours and travel when required
