Psychologist, Australian Men's Team

Working for Cricket Australia means that you become a part of Australia's proud history and help us look toward the future. Our players and teams are successful, inspiring and reflect the values and aspirations of the community they represent. As an organisation, we are seeking to drive bold, transformative change in digital experiences, junior participation, culturally diverse inclusion, gender equality and sustainability, whilst also reimagining the W/BBL, building player connection through storytelling and playing our part in developing the game globally.

Our purpose is clear; to unite and inspire everyone to love and play cricket. Cricket is so much more than just a game; it brings people together and binds us all through our shared experiences.

This is your opportunity to join a purpose led organisation that truly makes a difference to Australians.

ABOUT THE ROLE

It is an exciting time in Cricket and we are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Psychologist to join the support staff of the Australian Men's Cricket Team. This is a rare opportunity to contribute to the success and wellbeing of one of the world's most iconic sporting teams.

As the Psychologist, you will be embedded within the high-performance environment, working closely with players, coaches, and support staff to deliver psychological services to our world class, elite athletes. You'll play a pivotal role in supporting performance, mental health, and fostering a high-performing team environment.

You will be responsible for delivering performance psychology and mental health support for the players, and will work as part of the broader Performance Services team. Importantly, you will also work collaboratively with Team Management and Senior Players to integrate psychological principles into training, competition and the wider team environment.

WHO WE ARE LOOKING FOR

Our ideal candidate is a registered psychologist with significant experience in elite sport, and who thrives working in elite team environments. You're confident in your ability while you also lead with empathy. You enjoy developing excellent working relationships with players and staff. You enjoy working as one part of a larger supportive and skilled team in assisting athletes' wellbeing and performance.

You will have a current AHPRA registration as a psychologist and at least 5 years' experience working with elite athletes. You will have demonstrated competency in supporting athletes regarding their performance and their mental health. Experience working with elite athletes or teams is important but this is not limited to cricket. This role will tour for significant periods with our Australian Men's Team both domestically and internationally.

WHAT'S IN IT FOR YOU?

Our employees at Cricket are gifted an additional week of leave at the end of the season! As a CA employee, you will also have other benefits including:

  • Tickets to the Cricket for you to take your friends and family and experience Australia's favourite game!
  • A flexible working environment, meaning we strike the balance of what you need and what works for the business (this isn't limited to working remotely)
  • Discounts from our partners such as ASICS and salary packaging options
  • A multitude of leave types including paid parental leave and volunteer leave
