Job summary

Psych Experts is seeking a compassionate psychologist to join our established practice in the Greater Western Sydney Region. The role can be part-time, casual, or full-time and is an in-house position serving clients with anxiety, depression, adjustment disorders, and PTSD.

You will conduct assessments, develop treatment plans, provide therapy, and handle report writing while adhering to professional standards and APS/AHPRA guidelines.

Qualifications

• Registered Psychologist with the Psychology Board of Australia.
• SIRA approval or willingness to obtain.
• Medicare provider number or willingness to obtain.
• Experience applying evidence-based assessment and interventions.
• Ability to develop outcome-focused treatment plans within a recovery-oriented approach.
• Proven ability to work with multidisciplinary teams.

Responsibilities

• Provide therapeutic sessions to referred clients using evidence-based interventions.

• Complete electronic client notes and reports per APS/clinical standards.

Job description

Psych Experts is an established practice located within the Greater Western Sydney Region looking for a compassionate and skilled Psychologist to join our team. This role is available as a part time, casual or full time in-house position. Our practice aims to deliver counselling services to clients with a diverse mix of presentations including anxiety, depression, adjustment disorder, and PTSD. Your responsibilities will include conducting psychological assessments, developing treatment plans, providing therapy, and report writing.

Key responsibilities

• Provide therapeutic sessions to referred clients using evidence-based interventions.
• Develop tailored treatment plans for referred clients using prior knowledge and research skills.
• Collate handouts for referred clients for homework and therapeutic aids.
• Complete electronic client notes and reports for sessions to an appropriate standard as outlined by APS Code of Ethics/Supervisor standards.
• Write letters to other health professionals and external agencies to assist the client in continual access to health and other services.
• Attend professional development in accordance with AHPRA registration requirements.
• Attend case conferences for referred clients to assist in service provision.

About you

• Registration as a Psychologist with the Psychology Board of Australia.
• Sira approval or willingness to obtain.
• Medicare provider number or willingness to obtain.
• Demonstrated experience in the application of evidenced-based psychological assessment, intervention and case management services to individuals with mental health disorders and other mental health concerns.
• Demonstrated ability to plan, develop and implement outcome focused individualised treatment plans using a best practice framework with a continuity of care and recovery-oriented approach.
• Demonstrated ability to work effectively within the multidisciplinary care team (i.e. allied health team, Psychiatrist, General Practitioner, Insurance company).
• Demonstrated level verbal and written communication skills and the ability to prepare professional and timely reports and maintain up to date clinical records in accordance with documentation standards in addition to maintaining current data requirements of the practice.
