Job summary

The University of Newcastle invites applications for a Lecturer in Psychological Sciences at Callaghan Campus. This full-time, continuing role combines high-quality teaching with an active research program, supervision of honours and HDR students, and engagement with industry partners.

You will contribute to the strategic goals of the Discipline, School and University, publish scholarly work, collaborate across the discipline, and support student success.

Qualifications

• PhD in Psychology or closely related discipline.
• Ability to develop and lead innovative, high-quality research, with a clear vision for future research activity and a commitment to the highest standards of scientific and, where relevant, clinical practice.
• Strong commitment to excellence in teaching at undergraduate and/or postgraduate level, including the ability to supervise high-quality Honours, Master's, and/or PhD research projects.
• Demonstrated ability, or clear potential, to secure competitive research funding.

Responsibilities

• Deliver high-quality, research-informed teaching across undergraduate and postgraduate programs.
• Supervise honours and higher degree research students.
• Maintain an active research program through collaboration and scholarly outputs.
• Contribute to academic leadership, service, and industry engagement.
