Job summary

The University of Newcastle invites applications for a Lecturer in Psychological Sciences (Teaching Focused) at Callaghan Campus. This full-time, continuing role contributes to teaching excellence across undergraduate and postgraduate programs and supports student success.

You will lead course development, coordinate teaching activities, supervise honours and HDR students, and contribute to research outputs and industry engagement within the Discipline of Psychological Sciences.

Qualifications

• PhD in Psychology or a closely related discipline.
• Experience designing and delivering student-centred teaching at undergraduate/postgraduate level with varied modalities.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills in a team environment.
• Ability to supervise honours, masters and/or PhD research projects.
• Evidence of an innovative teaching and research program.

Responsibilities

• Deliver high-quality teaching across undergraduate and postgraduate programs.
• Coordinate and review courses and programs and implement evidence-based teaching practices.
• Provide leadership through mentoring students, HDR candidates and academic colleagues.
• Supervise honours and higher degree research students and contribute to scholarly outputs.
• Support academic leadership, service and industry engagement across the Discipline.
