Job summary

Miramar Group in Perth is seeking an experienced Property Underwriter to join the growing underwriting team. This market-facing role combines technical underwriting with broker relationship management to manage a diverse portfolio of property risks and support business growth.

Based in Perth with regular engagement with brokers and the WA market, you will underwrite new and renewal business, assess risks, and drive broker partnerships while delivering exceptional service within delegated

Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years' experience within insurance underwriting.
• Strong understanding of property insurance and risk assessment principles.
• Proven ability to build and maintain broker relationships.
• Excellent communication, negotiation and stakeholder management skills.
• Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Assess and underwrite new business, renewals, endorsements and cancellations in line with underwriting guidelines.
• Evaluate property risks and determine appropriate acceptance criteria, pricing and coverage terms.
• Develop and maintain strong relationships with brokers, identifying opportunities to grow the portfolio.
• Attend broker meetings, presentations and market-facing activities to strengthen relationships and generate new business opportunities.
• Deliver exceptional service to brokers and internal stakeholders while operating within delegated underwriting authority.

Miramar Group is seeking an experienced Property Underwriter to join its growing underwriting team in Perth. This is a market-facing role that combines technical underwriting with broker relationship management, offering the opportunity to manage a diverse portfolio of property risks while supporting business growth and developing long-term broker partnerships.

As this role involves regular engagement with brokers and the wider WA insurance market, applications will only be considered from candidates currently based in Perth.

What your days may look like
