Job summary

Lead Group in Sydney CBD is seeking an experienced Property Lawyer to Senior Lawyer to join a well-established practice. You will manage a varied portfolio across property, leasing and conveyancing matters, working with private clients, investors, landlords, tenants and developers.

This role offers autonomy, direct client exposure and clear pathways for progression within a supportive team and established practice.

Qualifications

• Australian solicitor with NSW practising certificate.
• 2+ years post-admission property law experience.
• Strong drafting and negotiation skills.
• Experience with PEXA is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Manage a broad range of property matters from instruction to settlement.
• Handle residential and commercial conveyancing, including acquisitions and disposals.
• Advise on commercial, retail, office and industrial leasing matters.
• Draft, review and negotiate leases and property-related agreements.
• Advise on off-the-plan transactions and property developments.
• Act for individuals, investors, landlords, tenants and developers.
• Provide advice on mortgages, loan facilities and property securities.
• Assist with caveats and real property security arrangements.
• Aid in property development, planning and transaction structuring.
• Identify issues arising during property transactions and offer practical solutions.
• Support settlements and electronic conveyancing through PEXA.
• Liaise with clients, banks, agents, solicitors and external stakeholders.
• Manage deadlines and maintain accurate matter documentation.
• For senior candidates, take ownership of client relationships and mentor junior lawyers.

Property Lawyer to Senior Lawyer | Property, Leasing & Conveyancing

Sydney CBD | Full Time | Career Progression | Established Property Practice

An excellent opportunity is available for an experienced Property Lawyer to Senior Lawyer to join a well-established and growing law firm in the Sydney CBD.

Working within a collaborative property and commercial team, you will manage a varied portfolio of property matters and work directly with a diverse client base, including private clients, investors, commercial landlords and tenants, and property developers.

This opportunity would suit a lawyer looking for greater autonomy, quality client exposure and the opportunity to continue progressing within a supportive practice.

The Role

You will work across a broad range of property matters, including:

• Managing property transactions from initial instructions through to completion and settlement.
• Acting on residential and commercial conveyancing matters, including acquisitions and disposals.
• Advising on commercial, retail, office and industrial leasing matters.
• Drafting, reviewing and negotiating leases and other property-related agreements.
• Advising on off-the-plan transactions and property developments.
• Acting for individuals, investors, landlords, tenants and property developers.
• Advising on mortgages, loan facilities and property securities.
• Providing advice regarding caveats and real property security arrangements.
• Assisting with property development, planning and transaction structuring.
• Identifying and advising on issues arising throughout property transactions.
• Assisting with property disputes through negotiation and practical dispute resolution strategies.
• Managing settlements and electronic conveyancing through PEXA.
• Liaising directly with clients, banks, agents, other solicitors and external stakeholders.
• Managing competing deadlines and maintaining accurate matter documentation.

For more experienced candidates, there will also be scope to take greater ownership of client relationships and assist with mentoring junior members of the team.

About You

To be considered, you will ideally have:

• Admission as a solicitor in Australia with a current NSW practising certificate.
• Approximately 2+ years' PAE in property law.
• Strong experience across property transactions and conveyancing.
• Experience in commercial and/or retail leasing.
• Experience using PEXA.
• Strong knowledge of property law, land transactions and relevant legislation.
• The ability to manage matters autonomously.
• Strong drafting, negotiation and client management skills.
• Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills.
• A practical and commercially focused approach to legal advice.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

Experience handling property transactions across other Australian jurisdictions would be advantageous but is not essential.
