Stellar Recruitment Pty is partnering with a leading resources business to appoint a Projects Lead | Process & NPI for its PNG operation. The Brisbane-based role will be based in Milton with a flexible hybrid arrangement and occasional travel to PNG.

Lead the full lifecycle from concept through to delivery, in a demanding mining context, coordinating with operations and senior leaders. You will bring 10+ years in mining/processing project environments, strong leadership, and a pragmatic approach

Qualifications

• 10+ years' experience across mining, resources, processing or complex project environments.
• Proven experience delivering major capital projects from concept through to execution.
• Strong project management, engineering and commercial capability.
• Experience working across brownfield operating environments.
• Relevant tertiary qualifications in engineering or a related discipline.

Responsibilities

• Take ownership of a portfolio of major processing, infrastructure and NPI projects across the PNG operation.
• Provide senior project leadership from concept development and feasibility through funding, early works, execution and delivery.
• Ensure projects are well defined, commercially sound and delivered safely within a mining environment.
• Engage with operational leadership, technical teams and senior stakeholders to drive outcomes.

About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Projects Lead | Process & NPI to take ownership of a portfolio of major processing, infrastructure and New Project Initiative (NPI) projects across the PNG operation.

The position is Brisbane based, working from the company's Milton office with a flexible hybrid arrangement. Ad-hoc travel to PNG will be required.

You will provide senior project leadership across the full project lifecycle, from concept development and feasibility through to funding, early works, execution and delivery.

Working closely with operational leadership, technical teams and senior stakeholders, you will ensure projects are well defined, commercially sound and delivered safely and effectively within an operating mining environment.

The portfolio will include:

• Major processing plant projects and upgrades


• New Project Initiatives and growth projects


• Mine extension and development projects


• Infrastructure and services projects


• Capacity, productivity and operational improvement initiatives


• Brownfield projects across an operating mining environment


• Future growth and expansion opportunities across the PNG portfolio

This is a genuine Owner's Team position, providing the opportunity to influence projects from the early stages rather than simply managing delivery once a project reaches construction.

About You

We are looking for an experienced project professional who understands how complex projects come together and can provide strong leadership across the full project lifecycle.

You may currently be working as a:

• Engineering Manager

Ideally, you will bring:

• 10+ years' experience across mining, resources, processing or complex project environments


• Proven experience delivering major capital projects from concept through to execution


• Strong project management, engineering and commercial capability


• Experience working across processing, mechanical or industrial projects


• Strong stakeholder management and communication skills


• Experience managing projects within brownfield operating environments


• A pragmatic approach to project delivery, risk and change management


• The ability to engage effectively with operational teams, contractors and senior leadership


• Relevant tertiary qualifications in engineering or a related discipline

A strong mechanical, process or processing background will be highly regarded.

Experience working across PNG or other international mining operations would be advantageous, however candidates with strong Australian mining and processing experience who are comfortable with international travel will also be considered.
