We are looking for a Project Surveyor to support a geotechnical drill campaign on a tailings project for our Tier 1 client in Central NSW. The role runs a 12/9 roster from November through to March, with FIFO from Sydney, Canberra, Melbourne or Brisbane, or DIDO from Bathurst and Orange.
Reporting to the Geotechnical Superintendent, you are the dedicated surveyor for the drill crew. Your day covers setouts for drill holes, pads and access, as built pickups of each borehole, and drone surveys to track disturbance across the work area. You manage and report the data in Deswik or a similar package, and it feeds straight to the geotechnical engineers, so accuracy and clean records matter every shift.
You work closely with the drillers and geotechnical team to keep the programme moving and safe. When priorities shift, you adjust the plan with them rather than waiting to be told.
The campaign runs through to March, with scope to extend beyond that or move onto other Prime Mining client projects. That path is especially open to surveyors with mining experience.
All flights, travel time and accommodation are covered.
A tertiary qualification in Surveying or Spatial Science, or equivalent practical experience.
Previous experience as a surveyor on construction, civil, geotechnical or mining projects in Australia.
Practical experience with setouts and as built pickups of drill holes or boreholes.
Experience capturing and processing drone survey data to track ground disturbance.
Confident using GNSS and total station equipment and survey CAD software (Deswik or similar).
Able to work a 12/9 roster on site from November through to March.
Located in Central NSW, or near an airport with flights to the region.
An overriding commitment to health, safety and environmental responsibility.
Current Australian drivers licence and full working rights in Australia.
Mining survey experience and a current drone licence (RePL) will be highly regarded.
Stable work & ongoing contracts as part of one of the countries leading Mining Professionals teams, with an extensive client base across the country.
An industry leading, unrivalled pay rate, with complete flexibility of PAYG or ABN contract options, and support with setup and streamlining of these.
A chance to experience a unique lifestyle while developing your career with a consultancy with a reputation for top talent.
The ability for you to expand and develop skills through varied roles and clients.
Work on a range of exciting and challenging client projects, with our streamlined business model always keeping us competitive.
Recognition and reward for outstanding work.
An opportunity to join a diverse well-established team with a strong reputation and genuine culture.
How can you pay so much?
Low overheads (no staff, offices or inefficient processes) and a mission to pay top dollar to get top talent, which in turn continues to build our brand.
Will I be out of pocket?
No. We cover flights, accommodation, meals, along with uniforms, medicals and anything else the role requires. We also factor your time off into the package so the figure you see is genuinely comparable to a staff salary.
Can I speak to someone who already works for you?
Yes! We have close to 100 people across the country and there is a good chance you have already worked alongside one of them on site. Have a look at the team on LinkedIn, and feel free to reach out to them, or us directly for a chat
