Job description

Process Engineer, Business Readiness - $170k to $200k

Prime Mining is an Australian based consultancy that specialises in supplying the mining industry with high calibre professionals.
With clients across Aus and Internationally, we take pride in our team of some of the industry’s best mining professionals.

With clients including all the large and medium mining companies in the country, as well as strategic partnerships with multiple leading mining companies, we strive to maintain our reputation of quality people and industry leading remuneration options, whilst supporting each of our team members’ individual goals.

Further to this, we also offer our team a unique range of remuneration options, working with you to maximise value for your situation and setup, including offering assistance with ABN Company options, allowing for the benefits that come with it.

The Role

We are looking for a Process Engineer to join the business readiness team of a Tier 1 client, supporting a major tailings project portfolio in Central NSW. The role is based in the client’s Brisbane office on a standard weekday roster with occasional travel to site, on a minimum 12 month secondment.

Reporting to the Business Readiness Lead, you make sure new and upgraded assets are ready to run safely and efficiently from day one. You sit between project delivery and operations, working with engineering, construction, commissioning and site teams. The team is small and senior, with most specialists bringing 15 to 20 years of experience across mobile equipment, surface operations and geotechnical engineering.

Your job is to draw that knowledge out and get it down on paper. You help build readiness plans across workforce, maintenance and asset management systems, training and competency, operating procedures, and spares and supply chain. You track deliverables, risks and interfaces across each project phase, support readiness assessments and stage gate reviews, and help run workshops with stakeholders at every level.

This suits a chemical or process engineer with a few years in mining, minerals processing or oil and gas who wants to step off site and into the city. You understand how a process plant runs and what operations needs at handover. You are happy to put your head down and produce clear, practical documentation.

All flights, travel time and accommodation for site visits are covered.

To be considered you must meet the following criteria:

A tertiary qualification in Chemical or Process Engineering, or a related discipline.

Practical experience in a process industry such as mining, minerals processing, oil and gas or heavy industry.

Located in Brisbane or willing to relocate, and able to travel to site in Central NSW when required.

Understanding of the asset lifecycle, maintenance practices and operational procedures (experience with CMMS or EAM systems such as SAP is a bonus).

Ability to draw information out of senior subject matter experts and turn it into clear, well structured documentation.

Strong planning and organisational skills, with the drive to work independently and take direction well.

Proficient in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel and PowerPoint.

Exceptional and professional communication skills to engage personnel at all levels of the business.

Current Australian drivers licence and full working rights in Australia.

Site based operational or technical experience, with a desire to move into a city office role, will be highly regarded.

What makes Prime Mining the team to join:

Stable work & ongoing contracts as part of one of the countries leading Mining Professionals teams, with an extensive client base across the country.

An industry leading, unrivalled pay rate, with complete flexibility of PAYG or ABN contract options, and support with setup and streamlining of these.

A chance to experience a unique lifestyle while developing your career with a consultancy with a reputation for top talent.

The ability for you to expand and develop skills through varied roles and clients.

Work on a range of exciting and challenging client projects, with our streamlined business model always keeping us competitive.

Recognition and reward for outstanding work.

An opportunity to join a diverse well-established team with a strong reputation and genuine culture.

FAQs:

How can you pay so much?

Low overheads (no staff, offices or inefficient processes) and a mission to pay top dollar to get top talent, which in turn continues to build our brand.

Will I be out of pocket?

No. We cover flights, accommodation, meals, along with uniforms, medicals and anything else the role requires. We also factor your time off into the package so the figure you see is genuinely comparable to a staff salary.

Can I speak to someone who already works for you?

Yes! We have close to 100 people across the country and there is a good chance you have already worked alongside one of them on site. Have a look at the team on LinkedIn, and feel free to reach out to them, or us directly for a chat
