Job summary

Department of Health in Tasmania is seeking a Project Support Officer to provide executive, project and administrative support to the Director Rural Pathways and the Rural Generalist Pathway Coordination Unit. You will coordinate projects and events, support stakeholder engagement, manage communications and online resources, and contribute to workforce development across Tasmania.

The role is fixed term, part time (30.4 hours per fortnight), commencing ASAP until 30 June 2027.

The Team

The Tasmanian Rural Generalist Pathway (TRGP) Coordination Unit works within the Department of Health to strengthen and support the Rural Generalist workforce across Tasmania. Working collaboratively with health services, training organisations, universities, clinicians and communities, the team delivers workforce, training, education, and engagement initiatives that support doctors to train, live and work in rural and regional areas.

The Role

Join the Tasmanian Rural Generalist Pathway team as a Project Support Officer, providing executive, project and administrative support to the Director Rural Pathways and the Rural Generalist Pathway Coordination Unit. You will help coordinate projects and events, support stakeholder engagement, manage communications and online resources, assist with committee activities, and contribute to initiatives that strengthen rural healthcare workforce development across Tasmania. You will need

• Strong administrative and project support skills.
• The ability to coordinate multiple activities and deadlines.
• Confidence building relationships with diverse stakeholders.
• Experience coordinating meetings, events and communications.
• Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.
• The ability to work independently and use initiative.

Details of appointment: Fixed term, part time, day worker position, working 30.4 hours per fortnight, commencing as soon as possible until 30 June 2027. *Notwithstanding hours to be negotiated with the successful applicant. Applicants should note that, for a period of twelve months from the date of publication, this selection process may be used to fill subsequent or similar full time, part time, and casual vacancies.

Salary $85,196 to $97,915 pro rata per annum + our Employer 12% superannuation contribution is on top of this amount.

• Salary range is in accordance with Public Sector Unions Wages Agreement 2025.
