Job summary

Civica UK Ltd is seeking a Project Manager to lead the delivery of software implementations for local government in Australia. You will oversee projects from initiation through go-live and hypercare, coordinating with councils, consultants, engineers and product specialists to improve citizen services and operational efficiency.

This is a highly customer-facing role that requires strong governance, risk management and the ability to manage multiple projects across a diverse range of councils.

Responsibilities

• Lead software implementation projects from initiation to go-live and beyond.

• Manage multiple concurrent projects and competing priorities in a matrixed environment.
• Facilitate workshops, steering committees and status meetings with stakeholders.

As a Project Manager within our Local Government team, you will play a key role in helping councils modernise the way they serve their communities. You will lead the implementation of Civica's software solutions, working directly with customers to deliver projects that improve citizen services, operational efficiency, and long-term outcomes.

This is a highly customer-facing role where you will manage a portfolio of software implementation projects ranging from new customer deployments through to upgrades, migrations, and additional module rollouts. You will work closely with councils, implementation consultants, engineers, and product specialists to drive successful outcomes from initiation through to go-live and hypercare.

You’ll join a collaborative and experienced project delivery team that values autonomy, accountability, and teamwork. This role offers the opportunity to work across a diverse range of customers and projects while building strong relationships and becoming a trusted partner to local government organisations across Australia.

What you will do to be successful in this role

• Proven experience managing software implementation, SaaS, ERP, or technology projects from initiation through to go-live
• Experience working in a vendor, software provider, consulting, or implementation partner environment
• Strong customer-facing stakeholder management skills with the ability to build trusted relationships
• Experience managing multiple concurrent projects and competing priorities
• Strong project governance capabilities including project planning, RAID management, reporting, budgeting, and forecasting
• Ability to work effectively in a matrixed environment and coordinate shared delivery resources
• Strong communication, problem-solving, and decision-making skills
• Experience facilitating workshops, steering committees, and project status meetings
• Ability to identify risks early and proactively drive mitigation strategies
• Experience working with local government, public sector, ERP, asset management, finance, or enterprise software solutions will be highly regarded
• PMP, PRINCE2, Agile, Scrum, or equivalent project management certification is desirable
